Gilberto Guarino plays Johann Pachelbel’s Fantasia in d-moll (no. 2 POP 111)
It is widely acknowledged that Sebastian Bach and Pachelbel never met, but nonetheless, his influence on Bach was exerted by the former’s eldest brother, Johann Christoph Bach, who studied with the latter, from 1685 to 1688).
The author of the widespread and loved “Canon”, known to the four winds, was a master of the keyboard. Among his authentic musical production, there are 248 works for organ and 173 works for harpsychord and clavichord.
