  1. Tbf to the Rocks involvement; the producers from Darkside said they wanted him to help talk fondly about WCW at some points.

Because everyone involved is so cynical about WCW, that even the good times don’t really get talked about like they should.

  2. I wish that they would have had interviews from more people in WCW. Leave Dwayne out, he wasn't in WCW. They also need to be honest about things instead of telling people's opinions and things. A lot of the WCW stuff is very pro Hogan and Pro Bischoff. I liked having Kevin Sullivan there. I am betting that episode 3 will be all pro Russo.

  3. I think the Time Warner merger has to bear the lion's share of blame of killing WCW. They just wanted absolutely nothing to do with Pro Wrestling. Also, Russo putting the World Title on David Arquette (and later himself 🙄) didn't help AT ALL.

  4. And all the while, WWF was re-tooling, and did a great job with the smaller number of talent on the roster giving everybody a piece of the spotlight from the top to the bottom of the card. Everybody was a superstar with clear long term story arcs and feuds that made sense. Made for some compelling must watch PPV and TV events. Plenty of blame to go around at WCW but WWF producing a superior product drove the final stake in the heart of WCW.

  5. Giving any wrestler creative control is what did it I think.. I agree with Brian Jim wasn't wrong the big Boys had control for so damn long when I came to the undercards trying to get over they weren't popular enough..

  6. It's been said before ..so I'll say it again…the only thing that kept WCW going was Ted Turner..Ted loved wrestling..and wrestling was the cornerstone of his wealth ..with that said…when the AOL/Time Warner merger happened, and Ted was ousted…WCW was done …The new people did not like wrestling nor did they see it as a viable profit…and with no Turner behind Bischoff….it was just a matter of time before the walls crumble…in all honesty I'm surprised WCW lasted as long as it did after the merger…

  7. You know why the finger poke destroyed WCW? Half the WCW crowd hated Goldberg and Hogan alike. My dad and my brother and I all loved Nash but after the finger poke there was no one to root for. We watched about a month after the finger poke only to see if the old white NWO would get built back up. Once we saw it was going nowhere we turned to WWF and never turned back.

  8. This was hard to listen to, jim is way off base and Brian continues to be extremely jealous of The Rock. Eric Bichof has stated multiple times that Stings head was not right nor in the game. He had troubles at home, marriage issues and was fighting a drug addiction. When Sting arrived it was clear that something was wrong.

  9. Hulk Hogan with creative control and changing things last minute along with Hall and Nash's greed and favored nations clauses in their contracts. Network executives whom wanted it gone yesterday even when Jim Crockett Promotions had it before Ted Turner bought it. Shitty booking from both Bischoff and Russo and talent not being able to get over is what killed WCW.

  10. I hate it when Jim talks about Bischoff's WCW. He pretty much only knows what bullshit he heard from Meltzer and his own stooges at the time and he perpetuates the same myths.
Jim and Bryan, go buy yourself "Nitro" by Guy Evans. You'll learn a lot.

  11. after seeing episode 2, it's clear as day listening to Goldberg, Nash and Bischoff (hogan not present of course) to determine who is responsible for the death of WCW. Those names are it. I don't want to hear executives this and executives that. Executives don't like a lot about their programming but if it's bringing in money, they will keep it, regardless because when that quarterly report comes in, profit is all that matters. Bischoff, Hogan and Nash (ironic promo pun intended) strip mined WCW, got everything they wanted out of it and left the pieces for someone else repair. Nash and Bischoff in particular are full of carny shit. Especially Nash, who nobody in the history of ever paid to watch HIM do anything. Mr. "My check didn't change" is all you need to know about his attitude. Goldberg, well, he was allowed and put up to all of what he contributed. His attitude is just shitty for anyone to be around in any company, anywhere. What an absolute ahole.

  12. Holy sh*t!!!! Booker T totally buried Dark Side Of The Ring (DSOTR) as a show, Hulk Hogan and especially Eric Bischoff on a recent interview he had with "The Goat" Brad Gilmore, on his Podcast Heat, produced by Reality of Wrestling, regarding episode 3 of Who Killed WCW. Booker T got VERY heated about Hulk Hogan almost ruining Booker T's WCW Championship/Title win.

Booker T reflected on Hulk Hogan's creative control and Eric Bischoff essentially inflating Hulk Hogan's already massive ego, and Eric Bischoff being an accopliss to Hulk Hogan damaging the business, with their backstage politics. Booker T has also disappointed in a comment made by Hulk Hogan disrespecting Booker T's WCW World Championship run.

Booker T, pretty much called Hulk Hogan extremely selfish, Eric Bischoff as Hulk Hogan's biggest mark, and inaccurate DSOTR is as a show, as regrets being on DSOTR. Booker T, while saying Eric Bischoff did a lot for him, along with Vince Russo, but Booker did say Vince Russo had some great ideas, but also has some no so great ideas, and Booker T's respect for Eric Bischoff went down.

  13. it enraged me when on one hand bischoff tried to say sting, who'd been dutiful despite every b.s. angle (black scorpion), injury, etc, wasn't in the right place and that's why they changed the finish….then says later he felt sting knew the finish would be bagged and was already frustrated and it showed.
he buries sting but then provides the precise reason for stings discontent on the day of. bischoff is a shit for that. he literally talks out of two sides of his mouth. dares to throw some dirt on a 4-decade performer with an impeccable reputation

  14. Somebody tell Jim cornette that Dani Garcia is the rock's business partner/ex wife and the mother of his oldest kid Simone (nxt general manager Eva reign)…

hyrim Garcia is dani's brother and the rock's ex brother in-law…together they run the rock's 7 bucks production studio, which co produced this show with the guys that did darkside of the ring…

Dani also is a co-owner of the xfl which then merged this year to form the new ufl (I think that's what it's called)… however, in doing so, they agreed to become an NFL affiliate as a sort of "minor league," so it's unlikely they'll get "cancelled" like the xfl did…

The rock kept a strong relationship with his ex obviously because they shared a kid but he was not stupid because she was a business major in college and saw how she negotiated a lot of his business deals early in his career.

  15. Bischoff is a havitual liar & finger pointer. He said on his podcast Hogan's creative control wasn't anything significant & Hogan didn't use it. Now on this show he says he used it but he frames it as if it was for the good of WCW. Oh & he tried to say Hogan changed the finish to the Hogan/Sting match bc Sting "manifested" it. Sting feeling like it was gonna happen is why it happened 🤣
