This is what I've always said about "Montreal..", nevermind everything else, it was about Vince putting his foot down. "I made this guy a star, he's going to leave and make more money but he's giving me lip about what he's gonna do on his way out? Nope!" The rest is just a smoke screen. Vince is a control freak and anybody who's followed the WWE knows that!
About Danny Davis' return to referee status, I remember Monsoon saying something about Davis being "on probation…".
BS Eric wasn't a good commentator, as always. Brian is dead wrong.
I think everyone missed the point
The documentary showed that the Mr mcmahon character was actually just reliving things that happened to.him growing up..through kayfabe storyline. The lines became so blurred ..that there's a good chance Vince himself doesn't know what was reality and what wasn't at this point. …at first I was slightly disappointed. The longer I think about it…the more I feel that it's better than we realize…
Try to find out anything about Vince or his dad's childhood. It's crickets…
I think the point was we don't know who Vince is…because he doesnt.know who Vince is.
“The immune” Hulk Hogan 😂. Someone check if Jericho has that one already.
I am watching episode 3 right now and I just needed a place to vent. WE ALL KNOW THAT BRET JUST DID NOT WANT TO LOSE TO THE PRICK DOUCE BAG SHAWN! WTF? Why do they got to make Bret look like the asshole?
Linda looks like she's about to drop that cone and run screaming in the opposite direction here
Woooooooooo
it was a series for the casuals. a lot of this shit was repeated from past documentaries
I agree with Brian he's just wwe that's his life and soul
Hehehehe yokozuna numba one dubuu dubuu Eee numba one
I haven’t watched a second of the doc, but I haven’t missed an episode review. Matter of fact, I doubt I’ll watch the series, I’m content with Jim’s review. Sounds like it’s probably a lot more informative than the doc itself.
5:59 I fucking love cornette
5:54 😂😂😂😂😂
Disagreed with Jim’s worthless opinion of politics on twitter and got blocked! Guess I’m a heel. Doesn’t make me less of a fan though
"And My Foot In Your Balls!"
"CAPTAIN PLANET"
(RobotChicken)😜
I’m only through ep 3 and it’s just a generic history of WWE doc. It doesn’t really feel like a doc about Vince
If Russo had crummy booking and drew 7s and 8s what can we call Jim's atrocious booking that was drawing 2s?
BRET STILL HAD MONDAY NIGHT RAW THE NIGHT AFTER MONTREAL. MONTREAL WAS NOT THE LAST DATE HE HAD IN CONTRACT
26:11 it's amazing the word salad Vince uttered when pressed on this point. He should have just said "I can dish it, but I can't take it."
I’m watching it back and I’m wondering why hhh didn’t acknowledge Sean Waltman as a member of the kilq?
I’m surprised that they never mentioned the fake Razor and Diesel. That was desperation from Vince to cling on to what he had before he had to change the landscape
I bet Bret was pissed off that he didn't get to bitch about Goldberg on this show.
I think one of the problems with the talking heads they picked and the contents is because the indictment came after most of the documentary was filmed
He was also the referee for Hogan vs. Iron Sheik when Hogan won the title.
Trump 2024
Pretty sure it was Valiant. Danny Davis is 11 years younger than Vince-Vince graduated military school at 19 years old in 1964, at which point Davis would have been 8 years old. Valiant did talk about some prank backfiring-he got booted out, but Vince was allowed to stay due to his dad being rich.
Vince acts like he "beat" Ted. Turner signed a few checks but otherwise paid little attention and was basically gone by 98, when WCW was still kicking WWE's ass.
Idk every time I hear a story about Ted Turner he sounds like a pretty cool guy lol
Idk every time I hear a story about Ted Turner he sounds like a pretty cool guy lol
This series had some extremely weird shit being said by Vince idk how many times he contradicted himself lmao
I always thought the turning point in "The Monday Night Wars" was the night Mick Foley/Mankind won the WWE title on RAW (w/Tony Schiavone spoiling the match on Nitro). They didn't even mention that in this episode.
I think the words they're looking for is its not personal. Its lacks depth
Jim crying into his millions hes made cause kay fabe got broke🤨
Vince McMahon, killer of the handshake, complaining about not honoring handshakes not made. Vince McMahon, amusing distraction to the man who owns most of New Mexico, spinning the narrative to make people think Billionaire Ted was out to get him after failing to live up to his promises to Turner and giving Turner a television program that bombed in the ratings while inundating the super station with complaints from angry wrestling fans.
People might be complaining about this documentary series being inaccurate, for being too soft on Vince Junior, and from many angles they might be right, but I think it has exposed more than enough about why so many wrestling fans dislike him and WWF.
The only members of The Clique I really like are Shawn Michaels and Scott Hall, just for how good in the ring they were, and even they were a couple of perpetually addicted fuckups who got way too many chances. I like them all more than Vincent K McMahon, however.
This might be the nicest Jim has been to Eric Bischoff even including their Table for 3 interview w/ PS Michael Hayes
If it wasn't for the recent stuff they would have named the documentary something else. The mcmahon focus is such a red herring
