Afa was based out of Allentown, PA (or nearby)… the school was definitely in Allentown. Great guy, great family. There's a few of them spread throughout the Northeast/Eastern PA area these days (mostly LHV).
It adds to the current story of Roman trying to recover the tribal Chiefs necklace from Solo. I enjoyed watching the wild Samoans in the 70's, May they both RIP.
I live near Hazelton, PA (just outside of Scranton). A good friend of mine tried his hand at pro wrestling for a while starting around 10 or so years ago, trying to make it in the local indie scene. He said he was once given the opportunity to train at Afa’s gym near Hazelton and said what a nice guy he was and that he gained valuable experience training there. Sad to see that both Afa and Sika have passed. May they rest in peace.
It’s even more ironic how they both passed in the middle of the Family warring with each other on TV
People forget Orlando jordan is the rocks cousin on his dad's side
10:00 Brian and Jim forgot the Guerreros. Gory, Chavo, Hector, Mando, Eddie, and Chavo Jr. That's six not counting Vickie or Eddie's daughter.
10:37 There's five in the Rock's family if you count Ava. Peter Maivia, Rocky Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Dwayne, and Ava.
RIP big homie!
afa
Only shows Undertaker done outside wwe was SMW, OVW, and WXW Yokozuna tribute show and FMW.
The most successful wrestling family ever. Afa and Sika were frightening legit badasses
The Guerreros had at least 5 right ?..
Mondo
Hector
Chavo
Eddie
Chavo Jr.
Gory
With Afa and Sika having passed away, does that make Rikishi and Sam Fatu the new Tribal Elders?
Remember, their The Rock IS blood related through his mother
The Samoan Swat Team
How about the days of them wrestling Dick Murdock and Adrian Adonis and winning the tag belts ! Captain Lou Albano was a manager switched sides to be with the heels the Wild Samoans were baby faces
Rest in peace Afa
The Colons.
The Villanos.
The Windhams.
The Dibiases.
There's plenty of others that were already mentioned in other comments as well.
I can't stand Meltzer over here.
WWE's best use of legends in a long time was Afa and Sika's ceremonial crowning of Roman Reigns as Head of the Table.
Yea yea Idc why everytime a so called famous person dies it's all over the internet but let a war hero die you want hear about internet trash
Kaan with Gates of Agony is not Samoan, his partner is. Kaan background is Cameroonian
RIP to Both!
Dave is a Idiot!
Brian’s a mook😒
It’s not funny Brian ya mook😒
Mulligan, Windham Rotunda clan
Y’all forgot Samoa Joe!
R.I.P AFA ANOA’I
Did they mention Rikishi?
Authorities are looking to question long time WWF tag team champion Tony Garea to determine if he had anything to do with the deaths of the Wild Samoans, Afa and Sika.
Losing Afa and Sika only a few months after each other shows just how close they were as brothers. My heart out to the entire family to still beable to go out there and perform. We also continue so see how much of a moron Meltzer is, trying to get a hot scoop. RIP Afa and thank you.
Brian forgot Umaga
Hell's armada is bearing down on the pearly gates of heaven preparing to attack. Then they see Afa, Sika, Umaga, Yokozuna and Rosey waiting at the gates to greet them…
If he died anyway the next day who gives a fuck .
Brian Forgot Rosey – The Super Hero in Training – Umaga – the Samoan Bulldozer – the brother Brian could not remember would be L.A. Smooth
Guerreros, Reynolds Brothers, Ortons, Rougeaus, Kiniskis, Tillet's Duseks, Funks
How about Nia Jax. Isn't she related the family.
For anyone wondering about the other Anoa'i members that weren't named in the video:
L.A. Smooth – Afa's son, wrestled on the indies, including ECW
Lance Anoa'i – son of Samu, had a match with Shane McMahon on RAW once
Sean Maluta – Afa's nephew through his wife, appeared in WWE's Cruiserweight Classic in 2016
Gary Albright – married to Afa's daughter Monica
Black Pearl – son of another brother to Afa and Sika, wrestled on the indies
Journey Fatu – brother of Jacob Fatu, wrestled on the indies, including MLW
Zilla Fatu – son of Umaga, recently debuted for Booker T's promotion
Thamiko Fatu – older brother of the Usos, wrestles on the indies
Also, from the Maivia side of the family:
Ava Raine – daughter of The Rock, the general manager on NXT
Nia Jax – grandaughter of Peter Maivia's uncle
Toa Maivia – son of Peter Maivia, wrestled for Afa's WXW promotion in the 2000s
Peter Maivia Jr. – alleged son of Peter Maivia, wrestled at least once in the 80s
What is Robert Fuller Brian's father in law or something? The LUNACY to insinuate……? I couldn't care less if they had triple the amount of wrestlers in The Fuller Family, not one of them could touch what Jacob Phatu has done. Never mind The Rock and Roman Reigns.
Can Meltzer get sued for announcing someone’s death when it didn’t happen or happen yet? That brings more stress to the family.
Growing up in Baltimore, I got to see the Wild Samoans often. They were ferocious, monster heels and all us kids feared them, as the beat the actual shadow off everybody unlucky enough to get in the ring with them.
I was fortunate enough to see that one time greatest tag team battle for the ages, when USAPro booked the Samoans vs the Road Warriors at the Civic Center. The stiffness was amazing and Afa and Sika were actually faces in that testament to No-Selling.
They were the only wrestlers you believed could legit beat Andre the Giant, when he was undefeated.
May they rest in peace.
so many people dying, sucks man
The Guerrero family?
“Not guilty.”
Brian naming off all the Bloodline family members off the top of his heaf like that was impressive.
