Jijimon VS Phoenixmon!! | Digimon Card Game: BT-11 Dimensional Phase Outbreak (ROUND 2)

This is Round 2 of the Dimensional Phase Outbreak, a tournament featuring 12 decks from the 11th main booster of the Digimon Card Game: Dimensional Phase. The next two decks to clash are Jijimon and Phoenixmon, both being representatives from Digimon World Re: Digitize. The Green/Black Jijimon deck focuses on swarming Tamers and using them as a foundation to swarm Digimon by playing bodies for free or evolving for cheap. Although it can be seen as numbers-based aggro, it also has access to a slew of control abilities such as Green’s signature suspend. On the other hand, the Red Phoenixmon deck is also reliant on Tamers to strengthen the cycle of its [On Delete] effects which allow them to maintain consistent board presence with free bodies while wearing down the opponent’s field with surprise Raid attacks. In this showdown between functionally similar decks, who will outlast the other?

  1. Aswome job Rustmarrow didn’t expect an upset comeback behind victory from Green there 👍👍. Looking forward to UlforceVeedramons battle hope it comes soon 🤞🤞🤞🤞.
    Kind Regards AuraKnight
Rustmarrow I’ve been thinking on building a Tyranomon deck but not sure on how to go about it any Advice or guide lines?

  2. These two decks are really similar. While the way it is achieved is different (evolving vs being deleted/doing damage), the goal is to swarm Tamers, produce free bodies and maintain board presence to take down the opponent while controlling their field (suspend vs raid). As such, I think the tempo difference is really brought to the forefront in this matchup with evolving being a core game mechanic that is naturally fulfilled versus self-deletion which requires more effort. And I don't think Phoenixmon's first effect sufficiently mitigates this tempo difference because attacking has its risks – it can be explosive once your board is setup, but it doesn't necessarily help to accelerate your board to that state. So overall, Phoenix/Mars feels a bit janky to me now, being slow on setup relative to the game's current pace while requiring specific but limited combo pieces to burst once setup. I guess it's to be expected since the Marsmon line synergises with but does not necessarily contribute to setup/the engine, so another Bird/Avian line would be nice, especially a Lv.5 that can play free bodies. On the other hand, Jijimon feels more complete, with many tools to help you set up and meet your win condition while staving off the opponent – a balanced deck that is fun to pilot. It might feel a bit luck-based, but Tortomon helps tremendously with that and terrible rolls (basically 0 hits) are rare, as even just 1 additional Lv.3 on the field adds a lot to your game plan, being usable for both offence (Rush) or defence (Blocker, or evolving into MetalTyranno to stun).

NEXT BATTLE: ULFORCEVEEDRAMON (RINA) VS MASTEMON (MIREI)

  3. Nice back and forth match. It's good to see Tyrannomon support since it always feels like it's walking in the shadow of Greymon and I really like the "reincarnation" thematic on Phoenixmon cards.

  4. That was a fun match.
Honestly, I really like both of these decks. Pheonixmon and Marsmon compliment each other very well.
Jijimon helps bring Tyrannomon back with style.
Frankly, I would love to see some sort of master and student fight where it includes The Tyrannomon, Leomon, Mamemon and Jijimon decks.

  6. Great video, hoping that Phoenixmon would win and being abule to see more phoenixmon content. If Garudamon had a on evo to play akiho and start the engin soner.
Also if i may ask what type of gaoga deck are you playing? like the traditional gaoga deck or the Blue flare + gaoga deck with playing lv 4 and 5 with low memory?

  7. When you do spicy lists later I have a Pheonixmon list that is purple base so you can use the DemiDevimom that plays DanDevimon with it's on delete that you can get in the inheritable effects.

  8. Ah, an excellent showing by Akiho but such a shame she didn't make it to the next round.
Still, glad both she and Taiga got to show off both of their deck's ace Megas. Very cinematic, a match to be proud off.
It looks like Taiga's deck is one that can really keep up the momentum once it gets it; but I suppose getting their while against stronger decks is the problem. Akiho meanwhile is based on her comeback potential, and has both offensive (Masmon line) and defensive (Phenoximon line) effects to work around. I think her main problem is just how well those lines mix; as while Piyomon's line can give comeback effects to Marsmon, the Bearmon line doesn't do much to a Phoenixmon. That fact Marsmon only shifts to Unsuspended Digimon and doesn't have Piercing may also be an issue, as that means it doesn't have much use for its high DP if the main threat is suspended

  9. I'm sorry but why didn't Marsmon with the 2k boost from Hiro attack the bigger threat in Rust Tyrannomon? Because Raid says you "May" switch the target Not you "Must" so with 14,000 get rid of the biggest threat.

  10. I'm not entirely sure on the actual effects of the cards, but couldn't pheonixmon have just played a LVL 3/4 card that matches the red Tamera requirement for rush and just bammed for the win?

  11. Well, Taiga and Gigimon can celebrate for now, because in round 2 they will have to face
Yuuya and BWGX. Round 2 is already getting interesting.

    Round 3, 3rd match:

The Fastest Royal Knight, Ulforceveedremon W/Rina vs The Parallel World Tactician, Mastemon (Angewomon and LadyDevimon) W/Mirei

  12. I really hate that RustTyrannomon is relegated to the backstage. Tyrannomon as a whole needs mote love! And I'm really excited to build up my Tyrannomon deck with this new BT11 support!

  13. So I have no way of knowing what was in Phoenixmon's hand, but I assume you must have bricked with getting red Tamers. Cuz tbh, I've seen my friend playtest that deck extensively, and he always prioritized using Phoenixmon's effect on the Garuda and Birdra inherits to set up Tamers. This would've set up future turns for Marsmon way better as well as allow Phoenixmon's effect to bring out bigger bodies sooner.

Especially when you can bring out a GrapLeomon from Phoenixmon's effect, give it Rush with Rindo, and immediately go into Marsmon for 2 really big bodies.

I know this sounds like backseating and I apologize, but just wanted to give my observations after you said that Phoenixmon feels more slow and jank than Jijimon, which I had the opposite experience so far.

  14. I feel like a missed opportunity was to use Agunimons in the Akiho deck, along with maybe a Blitz Omnimon or two to provide more aggression. Over all, however, great game! I was looking forward to seeing both of these decks in actino and they appear to be pretty fun casual, budget decks (minus the Tais for Akiho but you can switch that for any good Tamer, really, like Tai and Kari for more memory). Looking forward to seeing how Jiji fares

  15. Okay there has to be a theme challenge since there’s enough Tyrannomons to make a full Tyrannomon deck. And since a lot of the new supports are Green, this May as well be a Green themed Tyranno deck with a splash of reds and black for DP increase and Cyborg lineups

  16. 9:20: Jiji should have got a draw from tanemon, idk if this effect is optional
Lethal turn: Jiji should have started with 5 mem due to suspended mars (edit: yeah it was addressed, apparently i cant see)

That aside, glad to see jiji won.
