John Rogers is a screenwriter and the creator of the television series Jackie Chan Adventures (2000–2005), Leverage (2008–2012; 2021-present as Leverage: Redemption on Freevee), The Librarians (2014–2018), and The Player (2015). Rogers co-wrote the films American Outlaws (2001), The Core (2003), Catwoman (2004), and Marry Me (2022), and co-wrote the story for the film Transformers (2007).

Michael Tracey is an independent journalist.

Aaron Good is a political scientist and historian, the host of American Exception Podcast and the author of ‘American Exception: Empire and the Deep State.’

  1. To be fair my “sympathy level” is 0 for writers of the West Wing and in negative territory for the writers of the Israel/Palestine episode I couldn’t force myself to watch.

  2. To a degree, as a non USA Citizen I don’t actually care that much whether the CIA killed JFK or not. The CIA is evil & should be cancelled whatever, and RFKJr is the only candidate who I think might actually do it. Ditto, Trump vs. Biden: I’d want Trump because Biden’s foreign policy is so bad & I think he’d provoke a nuclear war. Don’t really understand people who support Biden because, for example, abortion access etc. might be bad under Trump but would be way worse following nuclear war. Also his wall would keep the USA Citizens in rather than Mexicans out should there be a war & the democrat in 2028 might be as bad as Biden.

  3. Wow, Michael Tracy is extremely uninformed, uneducated about this. It's amazing how obnoxious, arrogant and stupid he is on this issue. He refers to Chomsky, Hersh, Coburn & Christopher Hitchens for his proof, those guys were debunked by analysis from Michael Parenti, Peter Dale Scott, Mark Crispin Miller, Lance DeHaven Smith, David Talbot, Mark Lane, Jim Douglas, and many other historians. Aaron Good was extremely patient to even traffic with this kind of stupidity.

  4. Michael Tracey is AA ball going up against Big Leaguer here. Him getting up just shows how weak of an argument he has. I remember him on the Gonzalo Lira round table show and he stayed calm even when Gonzalo was spewing bs and putting words in his mouth. Basically it shows he understands exactly when he has the upper hand in a debate and when he is getting hosed.

  5. Michael Tracey is woefully uninformed about any of the true facts of the case. He has obviously not read any of the important, crucial work by Dr.John Newman, Dr. David Mantik, Dr. Gary Aguilar, Dr. Michael Chesser, Dr. Cyril Wecht, Jim DiEugenio, Douglas Horne, David Talbot, Noel Twyman, Mark Lane, Harold Weisberg, Sylvia Meagher, Harry Livingston, etc, etc. It is very disappointing to see Katie ignore all these noted experts, and instead, platform the ignorance, and bombastic misinformation of an arrogant Michael Tracy. Do better Katie.

  6. How dare Katie host this crude denier Michael Tracey…The guy is nothing but empty words that go against the true intelligent history of Kennedy's real actions and intent towards Viet Nam and Castro…Tracey gives no credit to JFK for his real unprecedented attempts to get ahead of the Cold War with Khrushchev and prevent nuclear annihilation…Let Tracey debate Jim DiEugenio to show the public all the evidence Tracey crudely ignores…The guy is a blowhard hack and denier…

  7. It's interesting that he recounts his dad asking various people if their people were involved but he doesn't say if he learned what their answers were (Like, did J.E. Hoover say, "Yes," or "Of course not," or "Heavens! How could you think such a thing?" (so far in what clips I've seen)

  8. When was that footage of JFK talking about Viet Nam made ? He refers to "the President being right…" implying Eisenhower. A lot happened from 1960 to 1963 that would have caused him to change his opinion of US involvement there.

  9. I had no idea who MT was before this video. Unfortunately, I now despise his spinelessness, and am now reminded why I dislike journalism so much. Can't believe he is a journo in this decade yet is so blind to the very same things he says couldn't happen before when they are happening right now. Jeez man,

  10. Hollywood writing has become garbage. It's hard to have a ton of sympathy. It is a little like video game Quality Assurance. They throw a thousand+ cheap-nearly-child-labour at it and get garbage results, but they still make millions so why change. The labor force is unlimited because kids want to "play video games for a living". Lots of people want to do it. I think raising the bar for entry and then salaries would make sense, assuming that raised bar equates to a decent script here and there. As it is the talentless hacks permeating the industry won't garner much sympathy…. aawwwww do you not get paid enough to do a terrible job or for your talentless efforts? /shrug Hollywood won't fix itself, these people deludedly think they still produce a good product. There is no win here unless there is some level of quality control that is actually enforced. Otherwise they'll continue to release the work of cheap labor. If they do add a quality bar, it will be co-oped by the elite and the result will be the same. Exclusive hot garbage instead of cheap hot garbage.
End of the day, from the guy over here sick of their low quality products. I just can't give a shit about these peoples low pay.

    MT is a dishonest person.

  11. 52:22 … because they, the cia/deep staters, wanted Castro alive. this is why the bay of pigs mission was sabotaged. if the cia wanted Castro dead it could have easily been done. they need enemies to justify their existence in the eyes of the general public. and the closer those enemies are to American shores the more they want them. look where we are today. "the war on terror" will always be in play. BLM, mass shootings, covid. it's all part of a constant destabilization campaign that will never end.

  12. The problem about saying "CIA killed JFK" is that we see the CIA as a black box. CIA consists of factions. Sure there might have a faction – say among Dulles followers – that may wanted to kill JFK, but he hired John McCone to head the CIA after Dulles. And, further, why would JFK hire McCone if he really wanted to break up the CIA in a "thousand pieces and toss to them wind"?

JFK was far from being a dove. Only 10 days before he was killed, JFK ok-ed the CIA ongoing Operation Mongoose on Cuban people to target various Cuban industries etc. Even on November 10th, only days after the Cuban Missile Crisis – which was supposed to be a turning point in JFK's thinking – several hundred Cubans were killed because of an Operation Mongoose action.

If we think what JFK says in public speeches is always the truth (contrary to what John Mearsheimer found: "Why Leaders Lie? 2007) watch Bill Moyers "The CIA's Secret Army" – YT channel "NeesReels" – produced in 1977, seemingly at time before JFK became hero

  13. Just letting Katie know I’m unsubscribing here and useful idiots. Her disingenuous tweet trying to gaslight that Krystal’s RFK ambush was imagined by the audience was the final straw.

  14. Tracey is arrogant, out of his depth, and obviously incapable of addressing Aaron Goode's calmly delivered presentation of research without resorting to embarrassing rhetorical excess. A contrarian more intent on making his sweeping points than on engaging in an honest debate that might benefit his listeners. Calm down, put down the bludgeon, and examine your motives.

  15. Michael Tracey is to be commended, I suppose, for his critique of US empire… But he is mentally entrapped by this notion that US politicians' words are the conclusive proof of their "intentions" or whatever.

  16. CIA is known to lie in their documentation and is not to be believed. It is not beyond them to forge documentation that would indict their and make them seem that their victim was actually on their side.

  17. Seems like Mike doesn't really understand just how nefarious the CIA was and still is. You cannot assume that any documentation from that source has any veracity.

  18. We know for a fact that FDR wanted to get us into WWII. We know for a fact that FDR said over and over again publicly that he didn't want to get into WWII. And on the left we generally agree that it was the right thing for FDR to get us into WWII.

So why is the obverse difficult to believe in the case of JFK?

  19. Does Tracy ever shut up ?
Is this a monologue or dialogue ? Good job Katie monitoring this debate letting Tracy ramble on without an adequate time for rebuttal

  20. Michael Tracy is attacking a strawman by focusing on the Vietnam issue. Even if JFK was adamant about not withdrawing, there are still other reasons some in the CIA and defense establishment would have wanted to get rid of him.

  21. I'm too young to have rosy JFK nostalgia but I've read enough about his assassination to firmly believe there was coup in the US in 1963 (James Douglass "Unspeakable", Peter Dale Scott "Deep Politics and the Death of JFK", Jim Marrs "Crossfire"). Progressive thought leaders are telling us we must vote for Democratic Corporate Oligarchy to prevent Trumpian Christian Fascism. Why won't they let us consider RFK who seems to me way better than either? He's no Bernie but he's also not a nutcase, and his position on vaccines is completely distorted by left-ish pundits – he is not "anti-science". The fact that he has some support from Republicans (even if it's Boomers with their rosy JFK nostalgia) is not a disqualifier – it's a huge electoral advantage.
