  1. As a packers fan, I am disappointed in our last few games. Rodgers has not been the same this year, and with no receiving core and our o-line collapsing, it's gonna be a fun season. Hopefully we can pick up OBJ, but we gotta fix our funk that we are in.

  2. Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about football, but I do have some experience on the things to which I will compare it.

Before the season, the feeling among the rookies felt like college freshmen: nervous but eager. Just witness Doubs' comments back then. Then prof. Rodgers comes out with the classic "geez, they do get worse year by year" lament. They take note that here it is the mistakes that count. And one central teaching of management science is: "You get what you measure." So if you measure mistakes, the people in your organization will focus on avoiding mistakes, which is good – except when it stops them from stepping up and taking responsibility.

However, the situation is different for the leadership (Rodgers, LeFleur): Tracking mistakes and rectifying them as soon as possible is their job, to prevent them from escalating into a full-scale pandemonium. That is part of the fun being in management: In the evening, you never get to feel satisfaction for a day's job well done, the best you can strive for is postponing a disaster for one more day.

Sorry for the long(winded) comment; unlike Fermat, I am not deterred by narrow margins.
