Jay-Z came out of retirement just to take these subliminal shots in response to Cam, couldn’t even say his name, and there’s still people that claim Jay was unbothered and came out on top? Read that again.
When Jay announced he was retiring he held a retirement party at Madison Square Garden, it was a sold out event, and the first time he puts out any music since then it’s a verse dissing Cam?? But I thought he was unbothered and Cam’s shots didn’t have any effect on him?? C’mon….he doesn’t like people passing him, he wants to be the only one at the top and the only one even in the discussion.
He felt threatened by Cam, not only because he was ABSOLUTELY SPAZZING on every track dissing Jay, but also because of everything that had happened at the Roc, the success he was having after that as a solo artist, along with dipset, Juelz, etc…. making a movie…..he didn’t like it and that’s why he came out of retirement and responded.
Jay said this on why he was retiring, “The game ain’t hot. I love when someone makes a hot album and then you’ve got to make a hot album. I love that. But it ain’t hot”
Jay has always acted like Cam wasn’t a threat, he would say in interviews that he felt no competition from Cam and his diss tracks weren’t challenging, artistic, or even well thought out and didn’t deserve his attention…..well based on certain things throughout the years, I think its fair to ask why he was lying
Mainly, I think it’s time for some people to stop pretending that Cam wasn’t running laps on him the entire beef, put respect on Cam’s name
