  1. Jay if you need a guy to take care of all your cars. I am throwing my name in the hat to help out. You have an amazing collection and you are one of the most inspirational people in my life. Don't stop being Jay

  2. Ah the wisdom of age. Jay is great and only exemplifies why we need to value our grandparents’ life experiences. Not everything they say is necessarily correct, sane or appropriate, but there are bits of gold that we need to remember about how we used to live. Bringing up the beta v vhs (not vcr) war was accurate but lost on probably 50% of listeners. May he keep telling these stories for years to come! 🎉

  3. There IS a lot of overstatement and hype in the push toward electrification but gasoline will still be with us for as long as new gas powered vehicles have TEN YEAR payment books. Electric vehicles will just become another leg under the table. No need to panic. -Steve Magnante

  4. I’ll tell you exactly what I dislike about EV culture, being told I’m an ignorant hater and I don’t care about the planet.

When you take into account how electricity is generated, how dirty nickel and lithium production is, the energy required to produce and recycle batteries… The carbon footprint of my daily driver, a 2012 stick shift VW bug is WAY lower than a Tesla Plaid. Really?!? A 5000 pound Tesla Plaid is saving planet?!?

    And I am ignorant…

Notice I said EV culture. I think electric propulsion has some potential. Hybrid is a great approach. The amount of battery required for full electric with our current battery technology is problematic. And I really don’t think there will be a clean way to store electricity that is 50 or even 20 percent more power density.

  5. These guys might be good writers but they aren't very good interviewers….. Jay on the other hand is always true to himself, cool calm and a funny car guy if there ever was one…

  6. OK, this was a decent episode. I normally don’t watch your channel. I was interested in hearing Jay Leno but I was so frustrated because you guys kept cutting Jay off like seriously can you guys not let the guy talk without interjecting?

  7. 21:19 ~1990, the EPA had required each state to improve its air quality. Some states decided to require cars be tested every year at registration renewal (TN) and some states decided every other year (LA). Tennessee just decided last year to do away with vehicle emission testing.
