Jaxis, the Troublemaker | $100 Budget Deck | Battle of Wits

With Streets of New Capenna whipping ’round fast, to celebrate, we’re causin’ trouble with the new mono-red commander, Jaxis the Troublemaker! And best o’ all, we won’t even need a lot of money to get things turnin’ over here.

Ahem, enough of that accent.

Battle of Wits is a series focusing on creating Magic the Gathering commander decks on a budget, with a focus on underutilized commanders and unique builds. Each deck is created to both be fun and varied in gameplay, while also moderately powerful.

  1. I love her, I made her on a 70usd budget using mainly cards I had. If it is as fun as it looks, I would upgrade her a bit. Liked your video, we went with similar cards ✨

  2. Sweet build. Curious to see if you tested some of the encore creatures. I imagine impulsive pilferer as a decent loot effect since they refund the mana spent in treasure and can be encored later if you discard it instead.

  3. Really appreciate this, for not focusing on combos, but interesting/fun strategies. I plan on also adding a Goad sub theme to my own build. Really curious to how this is gonna play.
