When I was a young boy. Yes, I drove fast. But when I saw those blue blinking lights, i stopped. That way I received a ticket and went home. Then went to court and paid my ticket. Then proceeded to drive my car. Running will often destroy you car while you go to jail. It seems dumb to not just stop.
