  1. I’m looking at it in the Japanese perspective, and no matter how you spin it, this is disrespectful to them. Even if the black "samurai" defeats bad guys, it’s still disrespectful because it's not appropriate for him to kill Japanese people in the game, regardless of the reason. this is not his place he's a GAIKOKUJIN!

  2. Sorry to say that but a a video game will in no way provoke a crisis in international relations. Japanese people are justly furious, no questions asked and the government should show great concern for a woke-washing venture like Ubisoft portraying their culture in the way they did. But the day a **** video game will cause a crisis… that adds waaaaaaayyyy to much attention and meaning to the topic of DEI. Remember, there is no bad PR.

  5. I had predicted quite some time ago the nation of Japan might be angry at Ubisoft and even the whole country of Japan might sue Ubisoft same as Egypt sued Netflix over Cleopatra. And I was laughed at by shills saying I don't know anything about woke. Well well well. I sure am having the last laugh now. Lol.

If only everyone would adopt this simple policy these companies will change course real quick.

  8. Thank you all for your support for Japan. UBIsoft, Sweet Baby, Thomas Lockley, David Atkinson, and the evil organization are gradually being exposed. Despite their arrogant preaching about political correctness, they repeatedly discriminate against Japan and the Japanese people. This is absolutely unacceptable. We, the Japanese people, will fight to the end. Please lend us your strength and support. Thank you.

  9. No government in this world will make a fuss / a big deal about a video game . Yes AC Shadows has the woke agenda in it , and that doesn’t fit well in a Japanese based game. It’s understandable that many people, especially from Japan , would dislike it , but also we have to understand that the producer has the occidental influence in it , cause it’s made by Ubisoft , a north american company.
It’s not a must buy , Ubisoft has it’s target customers, they don’t worry that the game will not sell, cause it’s free to like the game or to dislike it. What I don’t understand when it’s brought the word “hate” for a game. Hate is a strong feeling, and can not be associated well with a video game.
Who follows videos about , or intend to play , a game that give a uncomfortable feeling? Especially it’s not even yet released, how can already hate it?

  10. If it were a side quest, like, doing a mission with Yasuke (they already did that with historical figures), in my opinion it would be much more interesting… but Yasuke as the main character, since they always asked for one in Japan, it's make fun of the japanese people

  11. Reminder that the game ISNT out yet and any YouTuber that is talking about this is doing it for views 👍 also assassins creed was never totally historically accurate, they just use the setting to tell a story. Don’t believe me ? Look into some of the side characters in previous games, they completely differentiate from their real life counter-parts

  12. Lets switch this around a little shall we….Why not make a game where a white dude shipwrecks in Africa….becomes gay buddies with A black chief of a powerful African clan and he's allowed to be a warrior and he is going around beheading black people? How would Ubisoft think about that? People would be foaming at the mouth and burning stuff in the street. C'mon, this is so hypocritical. I understand why The Japanese are pissed about this, as I am angry about it as well. So many cool personages they could have put in the game from the Sengoku period, and they decide to go this route? Of course its all about DEI.

  13. Ubisoft made X of UbiJapan apologize, but X of the headquarters did not publish it. Ubi has also violated copyrights and used important cultural properties of the country without permission. How far will Ubi go in mocking and making fun of Japanese people?
The problem with Yasuke is not his existence, but the fact that Yasuke's "delusion of a legendary black samurai" has been arbitrarily adopted as historical fact overseas without Japan's knowledge. Also, it has already been discovered that they exaggerated the existence of Yasuke and spread it abroad to make it a historical fact.
That is historical falsification. Yasuke is Japanese history. Many Japanese people are angry, saying, "White people was enslaved Japanese people, so don't use Japanese history to atone for the barbaric acts of white people who enslaved black people in the past!".
In this regard, Mr. Lockley often exaggerates the story, saying that Yasuke might have been like this. It is his personal view of history and is too rough. For example, the idea that Nobunaga thought Yasuke was Daikokuten is completely Mr. Lockley's delusion. Incredibly, on July 16th it was discovered that Lockley had even edited the Britannica. Similar descriptions were found there, and Japanese people are furious. Japanese people are beginning to think that Mr. Lockley is trying to involve Japan in atonement for the past atrocities of white people. Also, some people are beginning to question whether French immigration advocates who took his book seriously are looking to immigrants to Japan, and many Japanese and foreigners living in Japan are cooperating to follow up on the investigation.
Even if Yasuke had been given the rank of samurai, it would have been a kind of license to suppress the discontent of other retainers and place Yasuke on Nobunaga's side.
Also, Nobunaga at that time did not fight on the front lines, so Yasuke would not have even had the opportunity to fight. For this reason, most Japanese people think that Yasuke was Nobunaga's errand boy. Incidentally, it took Hideyoshi a certain amount of time to be treated as a samurai. Yasuke the legendary samurai story its like a military commander is nothing more than a fantasy of overseas. It is probably correct that Nobunaga found Yasuke a rarity and kept him by his side, using him as a tool to demonstrate his authority and as a bodyguard and errand boy. because If he had been a samurai, he would have been beheaded by Akechi Mitsuhide. Just as Mitsuhide was killed and beheaded by Hideyoshi. A story based on Yasuke would be forgiven if it were an absurd fantasy, but there are already people who are raising incomprehensible voices such as "We should have a black samurai in Hiroyuki Sanada's "Shogun". So if it is based on historical fact, depictions and expressions that black people may misunderstand should be deleted. Yasuke is not a military commander like Hideyoshi or Mitsuhide. He was a bodyguard and odd jobs for Nobunaga. They need to know this. When will they understand the difference between fact and fantasy?

  14. I wouldn't be so quick to say that Ubisoft will delay this game. They've shown themselves to be pretty tactless in the past. And they didn't care how people felt then. Not to mention the investors will want a return on Shadows.

Let's wait and see, I say. Somethings gotta give.

  15. Saying it would be a diplomatic incident is a stretch…. we all know what happen last time we had Diplomatic problems…… Japan will not start a diplomatic incident over a video game.
THE LEADERS OF JAPAN ARE NOT THAT PETTY

  16. Okay. Im not into the culture war stuff, but let me say this. For starters, I’m black. I understand the folly of Ubisoft using a black African main character in a historical Japanese setting. But what I don’t understand is all the sneak dissing, derogatory undertones, and passive aggressive attitudes towards black people in comment sections, forums and chat rooms all across social media. We did not ask for this. Take your grievances up with the all white development team at Ubisoft who’s behind this and the fabricated story of Yasuke.

  17. Brief summary.
Thomas Lockley and Ubisoft: "Let's make money using blacks and Japanese who know nothing!"
Japanese historian: "Yasuke is not a samurai!"
    Ubisoft: "He's a racist! Let's block him."
Ubisoft "Let's use Japanese cultural properties without permission!
Japanese "Ubisoft should apologize and hire Japanese people properly"
Thomas Lockley and David Atkinson "Japan forced us to bring black slaves! The Jesuits didn't want blacks to be slaves!"
David Atkinson: "Japan erased history regarding blacks!"
Japanese "What proof do you have that the Japanese erased history?"
David Atkinson: "There is, but I won't show it! Japanese people should leave Japan! Japanese are racists!"

  18. Honestly you milking this on a almost daily basis is beyond phatic at this point. You would even come to think this is more important than the Japanese still eating whale meat. That aide has not enough to do as Japan has more serious things to worry about than some silly fiction.

  19. They try to pull a counteraction by pointing out Nioh and Samurai Warriors 5 which features Yasuke while ignoring that both games didn't advertise themselves as historically accurate! I mean just look at the games and thinking Koei comes out and say those games actually happened in real life. Ubisoft meanwhile back in the 2000s wanted to make a game series that takes place across several time periods and getting the time periods as accurate as possible with only fictional MCs INTERACTING within the historical period and with real life people!

  20. As a Japanese person, I want to say that I ask the world not to buy this politically correct and lies-filled UBI Soft game. It's laughable that Yasuke the black slave says, "I'll teach the Japanese the samurai spirit." Everyone around the world, please don't buy worthless games. "Ghost of Tsushima" was well made. The creators also did an excellent job of investigating the situation on-site. It may sound like a lie, but the samurai of the time were beasts themselves, slashing to death 20 people by themselves, and fighting five against 300 enemies. The protagonist is strong in the game, but real samurai were also strong at the time.
