I find it dumb how the special op teams were so easily dispatched and how the show delt with the other major nations. The writer has a massive patriotism boner.
Magic might be powerful but it is limited. Science has unlimited possibilities and explains everything like the big bang and even magic. And we could have ended the world if the nuclear war continued.
oh wow, they made it into an anime now 😀 is it gory? Read the manga guys, it really dives into the politics and power struggle within the alternate universe and the known universe.
Literally the one part when they rescue their people made this anime good for me. Got weird patriotic feels even tho I'm not Japanese. We gotta take care of each other, homies.
8:10, You do have to feel bad for the guy. He goes to a HOT SPRING with so many women, and don't get luck at all, even though Alcohol was involved. But he does have a Good habit of Avoiding Bad Situations, So EH.
My only question with this anime is why no one from our world was interested in magic and stuff like that. As soon as I saw that there's magic in there, I imagined an entire arc of just purely people from our world trying to get their hands on magical items and magicians, but that never happened.
This kind of thing may be unique in anime but in one franchise it is so normal that it is a daily affair only the side that has guns dos not ask twice when they say: submit now or the next time we come in force. Minus all the politics.

I believe this assessment is wrong. Although it's been awhile and I didn't read the LN.
A portal was opened in Tokyo and the people within Japan was attacked. The natural reaction of any (defense) force is to push threats away from home and establish a defense line that doesn't cause the everyday public harm.
Upon realizing that it is a world with other intelligent being that is not earth, it is natural to for the governing authorities to attempt to establish peace and diplomacy with the immediate side because Japan cannot possibly invade without risking their main land from other neighboring countries and their public face to other countries on Earth.
And also it would make good headlines if it was "Japan, the first country to establish diplomatic ties with otherworldly country <name>"
Tbh my main problem with this anime is that it makes the Japanese military seem way to merciful. Now correct me if I'm wrong but the Saderan Empire that invade and attacked japan without warning right? They also captured and enslaved some of their people. The JSDF didn't even know that at the time of this peace treaty, not to mention the princess specialized squad attacked and beat one of the Japanese soldier (yes they didn't know that the peace treaty was made at the time but still) not to mention the blonde haired chick assaults' him AGAIN seconds after being told to make amends with him for her mistake. The Saderan Empire has done SO MUCH to piss off the Japanese military and suffer their wrath, yet they let them off. Honestly the second the JSDF found out their people were enslaved by the Saderan Empire should've been the moment the peace treaty was pointless and they should've attacked and destroyed the Saderan Empire along with it's people as to show the rest of the empires in that world what would happen if anyone of them dared to challenge Japan. But hey that's just my opinion, maybe the manga and light novels are different. Just bothered me a bit that japan's military is portrayed to be THIS patient with anyone who would harm them in ANY way, (yes i know it's fiction but come on!)

Bruh. Find the episode with the scene in 12:25 and become patriotic for Japan. Or your country. Lol

1:47 It is a good thing she had her flotation devices or her ass would have drown.
Part 2???
Waitaminute… The title sounds very familiar. Oh yes, World War II started that way.
I find it funny that he narrates like he's in a race or something
American Version: BOMB TO THE MASSESSSSSSSS. NUKE EM. OPERATION ROLLING THUNDER.
Best isekai anime I've seen
Every single weapon and Vehicle the Japanese used in this anime to defeat the others from the other side of the gate is all American made.
I watched gate all the way
I would leave the olden people alone exposing them to modern technology and modern drama
Neo Colonialist Propaganda hits different after you know about Japanese history since the second world war.
Did I just see a AC-130?
Are we going to talk about the thumbnail or what?
