I’ll be patient and waiting for another year and saving more money then, despite the fact that I’ve been starting to lose interests in revisiting Japan already and I’ve even started looking around the Europe or Americas for other interesting destinations instead of Japan for my upcoming overseas trips

I wouldn't move on it right away when they do open up because it will be chaotic as loopholes and cracks in the edifice appear and Japan being Japan, they'd hold you up because "the paperwork" isn't in order. Wait 3 to 6 months.

This is pretty good news for me. I was getting my temporary visitor visa ready to go to visit my wife’s family in Tokyo this Christmas. I got it all together but if they lift restrictions I won’t bother sending it in.
Hopefully I can make that old dream come true. Once I get the all clear, I'm booking my flight to Japan. Hopefully I'll be going from top to bottom. Luckily Panama City, Panama is an international trade and commerce hub. So I can buy my supply of Yen 💴 early at a currency exchange. If all goes as planned I'll be there in the off season like the late Fall.

Yomiuri Newspaper article confirms Visa Waiver into Japan for U.S. and certain other countries around October. It further states "returning closer to before border measures were implemented". Not sure if "closer to" was stated instead of "same as" because not all countries are going to have their Visa Waiver restored in this round of changes or if other strings are being added to this Visa Waiver. Hopefully, it won't be more significant of a string than a requirement to purchase insurance in chase you are infected with COVID.
Japan changing requirements is very confusing. Especially the type of vaccines like Sinovac whereas the whole China used it.

Perhaps understandable, but I'm afraid you have an over-inflated sense of tourism's importance to the long-term economic prosperity of Japan. It's not that important, It's just been more promoted over the last decade or two. The core fundamentals don't depend on it.

Living in MidWest America and not having any of the extreme covid policies and the minor covid policies massively ignored by 80% of the local population it is hard to understand the Japanese restrictions…but it is what it is, we will be landing in Tokyo in 12 days and we are excited.

I always buy the newest tech, phones etc. I will take your experience and never buy a new iPhone, I will also share your experience to everyone to stay on Android, Samsung would "and perhaps now" give you the new s23 ultra…tell Samsung your story, if Samsung offers to make it right by offering you a new phone then do a YouTube video explaining what happened and I would guess hundreds or thousands would stop buying iPhones…then who would have the last laugh???

Was able to visit Japan for the first time in Feb-March 2020 on a newly issued 5 year multiple entry tourist visa which I had though I'd get to use for several visits. I'm not sure if my Visa's been cancelled because of the pandemic. How sad that I was able to use it only once but I guess it's still fortunate that I was able to use it at all.
I heard Japan still picky vaccine which allow to enter only pfhizer, moderna,AZ, novavax,jensen. It's not fair for me and everyone who get vaccine China such as Sinovac, sinopharm 🙁

This is crazy. International standard is to require 2 shots to enter the country without PCR test. Not 3, 4 or 10. Japan is killing international tourism in their country. Oh well, I can spend my money in in Singapore or Thailand then.

I plan to take my family to Japan the last week of October. I was in contact with a travel agency that offers the ERFS certification and right when i replied to my question. They ended tours for October. They had the best price for what i wanted and inwas planning on booking today but see they dont offer tours for October anymore. But im gonna wait! And pray that they remove the visas requirements so incan book with out worring about a visa. Donyou think i have time or should we push for November?
I had an iphone stolen as well a number of years ago, likely by the fedex delivery man. They are high-demand items and easy targets because apple prioritizes their advertising over delivery privacy/security. I will only ever buy direct from an Apple Store in person. Will never buy anything from their online store ever again.
I’ll have to wait til next summer/fall and hope it’ll work out. I was supposed to go in 2019/20, so I’m holding out but South Korea definitely keeps crossing my mind due to Japan’s restrictions 😢

If borders reopen for visa free travel for US citizens, was going to spend NY eve and NY this year in Tokyo; else a very long layover on airside Haneda airport on Dec 31.
I have a 12 hour layover at Haneda airport next month. I booked it a while ago hoping that Japan would come to it's senses, and I will spend a half day in Tokyo. If not I will take a long nap at the airport.
