Japan makes contact with its lunar craft

Japan has made history with its rover ‘Moon Snipe’ 55 years after the first moon landing.

It’s become the fifth country to successfully land on the lunar surface.

The mission, however, didn’t all go to plan, with the Director General of JAXA revealing the solar cell has failed to generate electricity thus far.

It is suspected the lander failed to settle the right way up, and its solar panels are facing the lunar surface instead.

It could be weeks before it is known how successful Japan’s mission has been.

  1. Congratulations but it’s only 95% success. The lander will die in several hours without solar power. Once power is gone you will never know the exact location and doing any scientific work. So it is a kind of failure with only touch down and do nothing.

  2. Crazy , keep it simple , to the smartest people on the earth. Humans started using airports long time ago . We mastered flying and landing drones with drone operators . Get nuclear power , robotics build safe runway , refueling , human living quarters. Start a farming
