  1. Been to Munich Oktoberfest once in the mid 2010s and it's just not for me. Too crowded, too expensive, too many drunkards even in the middle of the day. What you have there in Tokyo, is much more to my liking.

  2. More than 4€ per beer… they seem small… well, they have to bring the beer to Japan hehehe… ENJOY!!!!! Btw, a festival like this, has to be weird without foreigners now, right??

  3. I was there in 2019 John! Although it was early September in Odaiba. There even was a German Schlager band in the evening, seeing Japanese go all out on that, was fun 🙂

  4. About the Indian restaurant guy. Japan recruited captured Indian soldiers for an army unit under the promise of liberating India as part of the "Co proosperity sphere". However, the vast majority of soldiers recruited this way defected back to the Allies as soon as they could. This isn't necessarily because the soldiers were super loyal to Britain, but because they didn't actually believe the Japanese promises, and saw how badly Japanese colonial troops from Korea were treated, so they concluded that getting independence from Britain after the war was more likely, "better the devil you know". Considering India did gain Indepenence peacefully shortly after the war ended, I'd say they made the right choice.

  5. Japan's Covid numbers seem very high at 862,493 active cases. The influx of new tourists to Japan from October 11could be very concerning for Covid numbers. (Have you had it personally?). It appears that 1 in 6 residents of Japan have!. Australia 51,770 cases by comparison. That's a huge difference in active cases John. I would love to visit Japan & I am holding hotels. Spending the vacation (quarantined or sick) isn't what I was planning on. I even see you without a mask in numerous video's, so how are you personally avoiding Covid? Please take a moment to respond. Thank you.

  6. Hi John! One year I took my mum to japan and we did a day trip to Yokohama and randomly stumbled upon the Oktoberfest festivities near the red brick buildings there. We loved it so much that at the end of our trip we went back again!

  9. First of all you tried the Hacker Pschorr from my bottle in our first munich livestream haha the one with the weird closure on top of the bottle. If you go again there you should try Schneider weisse is also from munich and very special wheat beer i recommend it. Krombacher is the only non bavarian beer i saw. Paulaner , hacker pschorr has tents at munich oktoberfest and the friendship between germany and japan maybe dates back until the first world war and the Bando camp on shikoku near Naruto city. You should check it out very interesting story about german prisoners which wear treated like hotel guests 😀

  11. Japan's friendship with Germany pre-dates WWII. It started when the Japan copied Germany army when it was trying to modernize during the Meiji era. (It emulated Britain for the navy). Also the German's cultural attention to detail is something that the Japanese also appreciate. BTW. Okotoberfest looks good.

  12. After a christmas party i once rode my push- bike to a st op infront of a police car that was crawling towards me, in victoria, london.
I forgot to put my feet down when i stopped and consequently keeled over right in front of them. They very nicely got out of their car and dusted me off. Told me to push the bike the rest of the way home and wished me a happy xmas.!😂
