Three students, awaiting to take admission in postgraduate courses at the University of Rajasthan, climbed up a water tank at the campus as a protest demanding extension of dates for upcoming student union elections scheduled to be held on August 26. They staged the protest as admissions for post-graduate courses are unlikely to be completed by the time the election takes place. The students, who are associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, said that they can not contest elections without admission. The three students identified as Manoj Dhadich, Rahul Meena, and Narendra Yadav. Gandhinagar ACP urged the students to take up the issue with the university authority.
