  1. I think the belief that the best protection of freedom is the right to vote is mistaken. As has been seen from the last general election, the party that the electoral system put in place had only 33.7% of the votes (20% of the total electorate). If our voting meant democracy, why do we have a minority party in overwhelming power? The electoral system has allowed a party with only 33.7% support (at best) to have 64% of the seats in parliament and that overwhelming majority in parliament means that a minority party is imposing it's will on the majority. Voting in the last general election was futile in the circumstances, it made no difference to the outcome. Reform are 88 (EIGHTY EIGHT) MPs short, the Tories 35 MPs short and the Greens 40 seats short of fair representation for the voters. If there was fair representation (proportional), the parties opposing Labour would have 430 MPs.but instead have 239. Democracy? I think the belief that the best protection of freedom is the right to vote is mistaken – it made no difference. The system needs changing URGENTLY.

  2. Mogg is a socialist we should have no police army fire health or anything you do not pay for yourself. Private security and warlords are the way forward if you’re a true conservative non socialist

  3. Oh, Ms. Smith, the humble security guard turned high-powered security analyst. Who knew a night stick and a uniform could be the stepping stone to a glamorous career in cybersecurity?

  4. Representative democracy gives the situation where we vote based on promises that are never kept, voting in the U.K. is now being “gamed” by the two main parties. I have always supported strong Government via FPTP, however we have been taken for mugs far too long and it’s time we got PR and the representative coalitions that produces.

  5. Why was it necessary to send 480 delegates to a European conference and who paid the costs for flights and accommodation? I am being told we have a huge 22 billion deficit. Why is it necessary for Starmer to keep making foreign trips when all our problems at home need to be addressed. 8:43
