Jackson Betz – Don't Worry Baby (Beach Boys Cover)

My all-time favorite song, Don’t Worry Baby by the Beach Boys, was recorded on February 20, 1964. (Some historians think it was actually recorded on January 7 because documentation from that time period is sketchy, but it’s the thought that counts!) To commemorate the occasion, I put together my own version of the song. Singing Brian Wilson’s vocal parts is always a challenge (even after I took the key a step down on this cover), but I hope the final product is worthwhile!

Breakdown of the 8 tracks:
1. Electronic drums
2. Rhythm guitar
3. Piano
4. Keyboard bass
5. Four backing vocal tracks, bounced onto one track (plus guitar solo overdubs)
6. Four more backing vocal tracks, bounced onto one track
7. Lead vocal 1
8. Lead vocal 2

  1. Again, your talent shines so bright, time after time. Beautifully realised and presented.
I didn’t sleep last night cuz of an exam, and this is what brought my energy and mood back to life. Felt like a sunbeam in a video form.

Thank you for sharing your work and talent, Jackson. ❤

  2. Since I know of you through your transit vlogging, I am curious…do you have a formal education in music? If you can play five instruments, sing perfectly, and produce complicated arrangements just from learning by yourself, I would be really jealous!
