IXION | EP.21 – CRYING OVER SPILT BLOOD (NEW Sci-Fi Survival City Builder Let's Play)

IXION puts us in charge of Tiqqun Station – humanity’s last hope for finding a safe haven among the stars where the species can live on and prosper. With its overbearing and dark atmosphere, where humankind itself is on the brink of extinction, IXION feels like Frostpunk in Space in many ways – maintaining the peoples’ trust and keeping them fed, happy, healthy, and working are all crucial aspects of the survival colony management elements of the game. At the same time, we’ll seek to maintain the operational capacities of our space station, research new technologies, perform upgrades, and organize the multiple sectors of the station to specialize and work in tandem with each other.

  1. I wouldn't get the "test subject", seems like they're an Ashtangite, which from previous events don't seem like great people… But maybe all that was propaganda and he'll be fine

  2. As soon as I read "experiment" and "genetic" in the same sentence I was like "oh dear, this is not good". RIP
I can't remember if we talked about it or not but you could replace the small Tier 1 batteries in the station with the Tier 2 or Tier 3 (like in Sector 1 for example). You do have a nice flow of electronics going, so why not?
Unless you're bringing in a large amount of 1 ressource, I think the large stockpile is overkill but I think the Medium stockpile is quite useful (for example, stocking your cryonic pods in 1 medium stockpiles intead of multiple small ones)!

    Great episode!

PS: I vote to open sector 6 instead of sector 4.

  3. Hey Party, if you ever open your next sector, I would suggest you open Sector 6. While it may not look good to look at, it will be more efficient because instead of having to spend 3 cycles on moving people from Sector 1 to Sector 4, you'll only spend 1.

  4. 1.) You could remove those 2 small batteries in Sector 2 to give you more room for another Electronics factory. 2.) Look at the medium stockpile as I think the large stockpile is too awkward. 3.) Open the next sector soon as possible. Homeless is becoming a problem in sector 1. 4.) I’m an old school Guardsman but that was an excessive amount of casualties. Seriously, are the science teams uniforms red?

  5. Well well well…we shall see…

It seems like you can get more or fewer countermeasures against the piranesi, depending on the choices you take ? Intersting… Because my missile did something entirely different.

  6. I have devoured the earlier videos in this series watching them in just a few days. Thank you for speaking so clearly. It makes the videos easier to understand at higher watch speeds. 🙂

  7. Well, the plot thickens. My main question is …what is happening? With the other factions, I mean. UN became a United Reich of sorts, the BMS we have no real information besides the fact that they pack a punch, and the Ashtangites are very into biomods, biotech and biohacks. And that's it.
On the other hand, (puts tinfoil hat on) considering that the first VOHLE jump basically sent the Tiqqun forward in time, by at least a decade and half, what if every VOHLE jump wiggles the Tiqqun in time, sometimes more, sometimes less, which could potentially explain why you had a huge time skip but now you are apparently only days after the Etemenanki vs Piranesi battle…

  8. Unfortunately you missed out on being able to go to the medical centre because you chose to repatriate the chard human hybrid thing first, and it counted as you leaving the wreckage. I wouldn't be surprised if you missed out on a ton of science and crypods. Hopefully not enough cryopods to soft lock you.

Edited to add: can you please double check the R&D wreckage? It seemed like you need to move the Tiqqun there to provide power to access something.

  9. A "genius" "Inventor" would never use a phonetic alphabet associated with war, or at least the PR heads won't! They will definitely have invented their own defying the UN, "disrupting" airspace safety protocols and preventing space navigation orderliness. Hope you can have some fun finding billionaire brained substitutes for the good old alpha-zulu ! Love you, what you do &c.

  10. The moment I read that the crew will try to move the specimen from stasis pod to cryopod I knew it is not gonna end well. Bringing the test specimen to the Tiqqun was very very veeeery unwise. What if the subject was infected with some unknow pathogen? you might have doomed you mission and possibly the whole humanity just by allowing it to come to the Tiqqun. Just think of alien movies or some other SF horror movies.

  11. If you moved both of those mushroom walls 1 tile towards the farm so it's flush against it, you could fit a third one in place of the bug farm and free up some space too

  12. Medium stockpiles are a good compromise between space and storage options, they're 4 by 8, so half the size of the large ones, and store 360 each with the 20% upgrade.

  13. This is about the time, as you closing to finish this system when you should be opening the 6th sector, with at least 3 or 4 cryonic centers opening pods. You have over 1500 to open right now, I think there might be more even at the last event. That's 250+ cycles with your current setup even if you do research the upgrade – which you don't really need because you can just build another thawery, and another, it only costs power and workers which you have a lot of.

  14. I'd advise you to stay as long as possible in this system to research everything, collect ALL the resources, open sectors, wake people up and collect their poop for alloys or even electronics (in a waste spec sector).
