I've NEVER Played a Digimon World Game… | Let's Try Digimon World!

This is my first time ever trying a Digimon World game and I’m likely going to get stomped, run around like a dummy, but most importantly, have fun lol

  1. Honestly, the digimon world games don't really hold up if you didn't grow up with them. ESPECIALLY 2 and 4 (4 has never been good). I would honestly just skip to Next Order. Next Order is basically a remake of World 1. Or if you're doing handheld games, also Dusk, Dawn and World Championship.

But a game you should DEFINITELY try for the channel is Monster Rancher 4. It is an incredible game

  2. I remember my older brother playing this game and he still has it. He'd always run back if his Agumon needed toilet time, fed him, and gave him plenty of care that made him into a Wargreymon. Have fun Ed, don't harass it too much & GL. Also this game doesn't explain gameplay very well. Requires getting the manual

  3. you need to feed him until he stop asking, digimon will normally do a happy dance after they eat all they want, it is normally more than one met.
poor gabumon, will die super early

  4. Hey guys, had to cut the first few minutes out unfortunately due to a glitch with how the video either was uploaded or rendered. That's why it kinda just starts abruptly.

Basically, we will be doing 'let's try' on the channel where we try out mongames blind, especially classic ones that I've missed out on as a kid!

  5. This game is insanely good, but incredibly obtuse. Do not hesitate to look up anything or feel like it’s going to lessen your experience, because the game will not explain anything to you. Good luck!

  6. I love digimon world, definitelly hits the nostalgia feels!!
Seeing you reminds me of how clueless i was when i was a kid and couldn't comprehend English that well still.
Some notes i can give you is that all reskin Digimons, you see in the game, aren't recruitable. If you see a original one then you can recruit them 👍 try to avoid wild encounters as much as you can, as they don't really help story progression, if you want stats go to the gym, if you want to heal yourself either go rest at punimons chair or sleep. I would advise to train until you evolve to champion, if your stats are too divided and don't meet any evos criteria you will evolve to Numemon and if you poop too much you will evolve to Sukamon, those champions are not desirable
If you want to learn new moves go to the left top corner of the gym, there's a chalk board and each 50 intelligence points you either get a new battle command or a new skill depending on the elements your digimon has at the moments.
There's a lot to unroll to understand this game but if you want more info you know where to find me 😎
I want to see part 2 definitelly!

  7. I love Digimon World 1, it's a 3d Tamagotchi game, the best and well only one of it's kind.
Some mechanics are a bit jank, like pooping right after certain time skips, but you get items for it eventually, also, getting a Numemon or Sukomon isn't too terrible to "clean up" the world. All in all I can say it's a rather 'slow' game, but it rewards exploration and talking to NPCs, Spending a day or Week at the Green Gym, and well as the others suggested, reading the manual xD
This is like peak antagonist behavior like Shuuji not caring for his Lopmon, or the Digimon Kaiser not caring about or treating his Dokunemon like a tool.

I would not mind a series from this, but you need to treat this game as a Tamagotchi in 3D instead of a 'stuff just happens inside of menu's and battles' kind of game, this is a game where stuff happens to your digimon as the time goes on in real time basically, obviously not when you pause the game or have the menu open, but when ingame time progresses your digimon gets hungry or needs to poop, or if you take damage or get injured you need to try and put a band-aid on it or get medicine. I really really love this stuff, and I miss it from other games, where you don't really "take care" of your partners.

Read these below if you want some tips.

Specials are just time based, after some time you get to press the button then a bit of button mashing and then you get a big damage attack.

Your Call as you said is giving the Digimon(ai) control over what it's doing.

If you raise a Digimons intelligence you can unlock different options to control your digimon, I think at 400 int you can choose it's attacks to use.

Just like in the Tamagotchi handheld, weight, stats, and care-mistakes all decide what evolutions you will get.

  8. The Tokomon to the right of Jijimon has some healing items to give you if it is your first time playing and you return to talk to him (this is kinda hinted in the dialogue at the start). Not sure if you already missed them completely, though. I think he only gives them to you the first day
Also, try training speed. It is the most important stat in the game.

For other Digimon games to play, Dusk/Dawn could be fine. They are a lot like Pokemon games. World 2 and 3 are ok, but absurdly grindy, so probably not ideal for this kind of content. At least for inexperienced players. Digimon World can be beaten without grinding if you know what you are doing, although you dont know at all.

  9. As soon as he said "I'm going in blind" I went " oooohhhh nnnnnoooooo."

I love this game, like, a lot, and it is a monster taming game first and an RPG second. Perfect to this channel. But it doesn't explain ANYTHING.

  10. I love your channel, man.
But please, start talking with the NPC's at File City.
Train, like 2 or 3 times per days, as well as battling.
If HP goes down give it a SM Recovery during battle.
If its outside of battle and he rejects the item scold it and try again. (Only time you should scold it)
Do not rest after sleeping, you're just wasting time.
Try going west, south, south, east, south and south… at the afternoon. (Orange part of the clock at the top left)
A digimon gives you an hour to poop, use that time to find a bathroom (One at File City, the other one is from file city.. west, south, south.)
Since you have a Gabumon, try battling against Goburimon (The green enemies at Drill Tunnel), if you're lucky enough Gabumon will learn a technique.
    Good Luck.

  11. "I have no idea what I'm doing in this game"
And that's the Digimon World experience :v

The game just takes a "Lots of things you don't need to know" approach and tells you close nothing. Couple that with the fact that the game ins't exacly well translated and you'll be in a situation where the little info the game does give might not be relieable.

A lot of people like this about the game though, since it creates an air of mystery and prioritizes preparation and exploration above all else.

  12. BTW, keep playing this game. Seriously, it's a bit of "learn by fucking up" but once you get the hang of it is super fun and unique. I'd recommend spending a day or two in the gym just maxing up your str and int (you'll get more attacks and commands for battles) and then just venturing outside and look for more digimons to join the city. Every digimon that joins will open a shop and make your life a little bit easier.

After this you should skip digimon world 2 and go directly to dw3 (also known as digimon world 2003). That's considered one if not the best dw game.
