Episode 3 is totally different in the game.
For one, they make you play as Bill and you have to make love to Frank by smashing the circle button over and over. It's like a 10 minute sequence

The show is taking a lighter tone to a lot of things as well. The game definitely leans more into the action and the dread comes from constantly fighting your way out of no-win situations. In the game Bill was still alive when you meet him and you think Frank left him until you find him at the end of that mission having been bit. I like the tone the show is taking though since it relies more on the emotional impact.

This show has mostly just added to things the game hinted at with notes we found, and dialogue. It is great having his relationship with Frank fleshed out. It was changed a bit, but in a good and beautiful way that is correct for the adaptation.

Just a thought for you. The fear you're actually feeling is caused by the suspense and tension in the filmmaking. "Jump scares" aren't actually scary. They're temporarily startling and break the tension that actually has you feeling fear. This show, and the best horror for that matter, use suspense and tension. Jump scares are cheap and used by the gimmicky horror movies. The best stuff uses silence and shadows to play with your mind.
