It could have been introduced as an egg perhaps inside one of the fish you use as food BUT my money would be on one of your Genius visitors throwing it in.
I’ve got a tank of local crap fish… with craw fish…. They are climbers….
Crayfish can easily climb wood and brick.
Also, lice larvae bites/stings can cause bad reactions in humans. They are prone to get between clothing and skin so be careful.
I wonder if it's a self replicating crayfish. You may have more in there
might have hatched in the system?
Nature will always find a wat to invade when you have water outside, I'm glad you eventually got to the root of the problem though!
