@2:27 That's NSW….New South Wales, Australia!
Thumbs 👍
I'm privileged to have seen a rather large 60 line colour mirror screw in the flesh. They're pretty wild. The image just sort of floats in midair, apparently behind the machine.
❤️🔥FRAN❤️🔥
Lovely presents
Extremely interesting book!
nice haul Frannie, btw was that John Baird that sent you the tv book?
7 meters is the wavelength of the transmitter – 43 Megahertz!
That book is a high quality gift. Nice job to the guy who gave that.
Neat! Can’t wait for the TV-Book video! 👍
That tv book. That are an old book. Light board to one light. Of course we use teeny tiny light boards today. Old crt's. Lots of stuff there. Never cross the beams. Cool stuff.
By 1936 when the book was published the Baird system was pretty much obsolete and the BBC alternated between it and the electronic EMI/Marconi system, and dropped it completely in 1937.
8:19 Baird's "HD" was 240 line, the EMI system was 405.
Thanks
One wonders how a set of spudgers can cause cancer or reproductive harm. Are they made of depleted uranium or something?
I was inspired to get a couple spudgers after watching BigClive’s channel for a while. I do find that there are instances where they work better than prying with a screwdriver, but I still reach for the screwdriver more often. I’ll be interested to see how you like them.
Careful plugin in unknown devices into your computers USB port.(Virus risk) Use a power supply with a USB port instead.
No one really needs to ask you for your receiving address, as it is plastered all over this video!!!
Have a extremely similar version of one of the those wood clocks. I liked the color of the veneer and the yellow/orangeish leds. Veneer on mine is a little more seamless, but with age the adhesive holding the veneer for the front is starting to lift.
I looked at getting a copy of this, £80!!
I read books like that when I was little, and it is neat to see the Baird/CBS mechanical concept on the front. The clock is amazing in that it has nothing resembling a display at all but still works.
The flickering hertz my eyes.
Receiving these gifts must be quite humbling.
VIEWER MAIL TIME!!!!
Such a cool channel. Jist found you investigating bulbs.
I can imagine scenarios where it would be handy to have a matched set of spudgers when working a long seam. ? Cool stuff.
TV was invented in my hometown. Visit Hastings Museum if you're ever in the area 😁
Re: TV Book
Not bad for almost 100 years old. Thats a treasure. No yellowing of the pages… someone kept that book well.
Dear Fran I tested both led lamps before sending. They work in a standard candelabra socket base. I recommend a night light for easy illumination PS a type writer is very difficult to use when you have severe dyslexia. Found in a mechanical room. Not a
Medical Room. Robert z
Please make a video of how you are going to video the tv book, perhaps while you do it. Very cool, thanks for sharing…
