  1. This was awesome, thank you so much. As someone who found their wavy hair and let my colour grow out this video really showed me what I'm missing in my steps. Especially the high and low heat when diffusing! Excellent!!

  2. My daughter has curly hair. I have taken her to so many salons trying to get the right cut and care for her hair. It has been frustrating getting conflicting information. My daughter, now 10, does not like her hair and does not want to care for it. I don't know what to do. I wish she loved her hair as much as I do. How can I get her to properly care for it? I think that all the steps are too much for her right now.

  3. I recently found your channel and I am now a happy follower but I have to tell you as a busy mom and new grandma too I just can’t do all the steps you suggest. I do a little routine of conditioners and products and I leave it air dry 99.9% of the time. Wish I could show you a picture..but I have been having a lot of either loss or breakage, I think loss…due to both recent illness and surgery and also a lot of stress…I know you did one video on hair loss but I was wondering if you could go a little more into how to fix that when it’s not related to just hormones.

  4. Love this, thank you!! I’ve been so frustrated with my hairdresser, I will try to recommend this video to her and hopefully I’ll have a better styling and drying experience in future. Thanks Mel! ❤

  5. The only thing I have trouble with is figuring out how to diffuse my hair. It's currently only happy with airdrying in the sun, no matter how many different techniques (incl. Mel's) I have tried.

  6. curly hair community, can someone please help me!
I've recently started my curly hair journey, but I've noticed that my top layers are a lot curlier than my bottom layers, which are basically straight. i'm not sure if it's because of build-up or because of a difference in curl patterns, but does anybody have any tips?

  7. Great video! Great channel!!! It seems that all your tutorials are on wavy/curly girls with long hair. I’m growing out an undercut pixie and it’s now a inch or so past a chin length bob. I’ve gotten keratin treatments for years due to frizz and uneven wave pattern but I’m done. I’m ready to embrace my natural wavy/curly coarse thick hair. But I don’t know what to do because all the tutorials are on girls with long hair. Any advice would be greatly appreciated ❤ Nancy 😘

  8. It's been 3.5 years since I went for a haircut. I've been cutting it at home as I can't find a person to do it to my liking.. The last time it was a curly specialist.

  9. How about a video on different curls and levels of damage to different areas of the hair? Mine is heat damaged on the top layer and front area from using a curling iron. Now it won’t curl without it! But underneath is healthy and more curly. 😫

  10. Love, love, love you and your videos, Mel! Funny and informative!
Can you please do a video for us fine + wavy curlies? My hair is fine, likes to expand, and I have probably 4 different curl patterns which I find frustrating and time consuming in trying to create some sort of cohesion. I have everything from 1A to 3B on my head. Help! Love from Chicago!❤️

  11. Yeah, I haven't let anybody cut my hair in over 13 years because i have ringlets & I live in a white ppl enclave where seemingly there is zero interest in learning to cut curly hair because the only beauty ideal here is white with a fake tan & straight blonde hair that maybe they style loose waves into.

It's also why as much as I would like to go to a medical spa I don't trust any locally because the staff are all cookie cutters visually & seemingly take no moment to consider whether these popular alterations – huge cheek wing fillers, brow laminations, lip flips, lateral brow threads etc actually work for their own face before they get them & too many of them just look…weird. Like how can I talk beauty ideals with a group of people who think of it as one size fits all, people who only get procedures trending right now & want the same exact results when that's not what I want for my own face?

  12. I've come to the conclusion that the curly hair specialist I've gone to for my last 3 cuts doesn't understand my hair at all. She had good reviews, so maybe she's good for certain types of curls, but she always cuts my hair too short. The last time I specifically told her I wanted to grow it out and she not only took too much off, she gave my hair a very weird shape.

  13. I am South African and even here I haven't found a stylists who could cut my 3b hair the what I want. There are plenty of black stylists who can do type 4 hair but few can handle a looser curl in its natural state. Plenty can flawlessly blow-dry hair straight and smooth without flatirons (we're VERY good at that as well as roller sets which I haven't even seen done as good on YouTube).
If I needed a straight blowdry, I know where to go.
If I want a haircut to suit my curly hair in its curly state, then I go for Pakistani barbers. I prefer fairly short hair. I have yet to find a hairstylist who can cut my hair like those Pakistani barbers …. Who all want to marry me and every other woman who goes there🤣🤣🤣
