WHAT IS BIG AMBITIONS?
Big Ambitions is a roleplaying business simulator situated in the open-world city of New York. You start the game as a young kid surviving in the big apple. You have big ambitions for money and success, but youโ€™re starting with absolutely nothing.

In Big Ambitions, you control a single person in the middle of the bustling metropolis of New York City. Your goal is to achieve financial success in various ways. Starting at the bottom flipping burgers or collecting garbage to eventually owning and running big businesses and real estate throughout the city.

As you progress, you always need to make sure that youโ€™re getting enough sleep, keeping up with your health, and making sure your happiness is sufficient. Increasing your capital can be trickier than you think. As you will learn, money canโ€™t buy time.

If you enjoy business simulators, you may enjoy my previous playlist for Startup Company, created by the same developer, Hovgaard Games.

If you enjoy this content, be sure to show the series some love with Likes and comments as you feel like it. Iโ€™m open to tips and such in the comments, but keep in mind that Iโ€™m not likely to just do whatever anyone tells me. Part of what makes gaming enjoyable for me is that the mouse and keyboard are under my own control. Thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Nice, I must routinely watch the previous ep whilst the next one uploads haha.

Can you have unlimited amount of businesses in this game? Obviously you would eventually have to buy buildings as renting seems to have a limit of supply?

  2. I noticed today that you can illegally park so long as you're in the inventory at the top of the hour. So you can park on the path, and so long as you're 'loading and unloading' at the hour the cops dont' seem to care.
Shame i'll miss the live stream because timezones. Love your videos Charlie.

  3. You are reading your tax slip wrong: your discount market made 1thoused 4houndred and nintyone dollar profit in the 2 days the discount market was open. Only two of the Pryorities mega markets (midtown and muray) made more than a million profit, the other markets are in the 100thousandes for the year and the discount market is at a whimpy 1 thousand… but its only around for 2 days that year.
You owe the taxes 30 precent of that. Then of the total of your profits you can substract the 2 trucks you bought that year, but since they are stupid they are calculating the 30 percent of the trucks and then substract that from what you actually owe, which is in the end equal to substracting the deductable costs (two trucks) from the profit and then do 30 percent of the net profit.

  5. Is the benefit of buying other businesses that it reduces the amount of competition in your district and drives more customers to your own business? It would make sense, but does the game mechanic work that way?

  6. Thank you Charlie for the amazing gameplay! Finished binging the series just yesterday, and so glad I chose you to see more of this game. And its only been two weeks and you've gained since I subbed!! Congrats on 80k!!
Watched someone I follow play ONE episode and they barely scratched the amount of content this game has. The developer is on to a good one imo.
The music was another thing I had no clue about (so many avoid music on here so never any music) that is such a chill vibe. Good on the dev (was it Jonas?) for having "legal" music!

  7. I hope they add multiplayer setting to this, so there will be competition pvp. Even esport out of it lol. Just remove some of that rpg element out of it for that mode. Should be fun to watch.

  9. just wanted to say I thought this was a really cool idea for the video, I've only really watched NL play this game and it was early on, so seeing some of the interesting / rp style things you can do later on is very interesting

  10. About the taxes: you do not pay tax over your amount of money but on the earnings of your businesses combined (30%). So you don't have to buy stuff to reduce your taxes, it's based on the money made (and lost) by your businesses. Deductable things are in this case the trucks you have bought and I think properties will be counted as well.

  11. Would be great if you could hire a cleaner that could work at HQ or similar to the logistics person and then use that person to clean multiple buildings. IRL this is typical for a cleaning company or person to come in after hours at multiple office buildings each night or certain nights per week.

  12. I wonder if someone has a similar thing. In a business spot where you can hold like 40 or 75 customers per hour. I though i need a person working at every cash register to actually can maintain that amount of customers. i dont know if its a bug.. but i tried with only 1 employee at one register in a 75 customer business and i had sometimes sales of 40 per hour. i mean, is it really possible, that i need the right amount of cash regs to get the numbers, but they dont need to be used by an employee? can i really server a 24/7 business with just 3 employees at the same cash reg and get 75 sales per hour?

  13. Something I have to do for my own sanity when I start up the game every day, is to ROTATE THE VOOGLE MAP so that 5th AVENUE runs from North to South (in real life, it's approximately that way, with streets running approximately West to East – left to right).

Locations of street corners in Manhattan, New York, are usually given as being the AVENUE followed by the STREET, so 6th and 8th represents the top left junction on the GAME MAP when you view it that way, and the bottom right corner is 1st and 1st, with the corner of 4th and 4th being about the centre where the districts meet (Garment, Murray Hill, Hell's Kitchen, Midtown).

This makes memorising the map a lot easier, with the centre of your world beginning on 3rd Street. Only 4 little things disrupt this simple view of the map, being the CIRCLE at the top of 4th Avenue, BROADWAY which runs at an angle down from that and should not be used much for reference…lol… then the PARK which breaks the straight run of 3rd Street all the way across (but you can go around it and rejoin using part of Broadway or 4th Street) and then the 2nd AVENUE raised mid-section which creates a flyover requiring slower driving when going underneath…lol… especially in a more expensive car

Hope that helps you enjoy the game even more.
