  2. It's always the best of good mornings when it's a day that you post!

Seriously though, I'm so glad both of you are here and doing well enough to talk about things again. Shit is hard enough without also doing kitten rescue, so I can't even imagine how it's really felt the last 4 years of forevers since COVID started.

Love you both for everything you do. <3 Happy 2025!

  3. I "met" Bethany online when we corresponded about my getting a card of Tony. She was very nice. I will be supporting your Rescue often in 2025. Best wishes to both of you in your future with the Rescue. Virtual hugs to you both, you are priceless in what you do for cats and kittens.

  4. 37:00 ok so hi, hello, fellow woodland AuDHDer… hear me out… (1) congrats on the partnership and iterative milestones in the rescue! and (2) when y'all meet for brainstorming sessions, I'm picturing them done whilst on a woodland (or even neighborhood) walk. Walking fires off super creative neurons that will propel your business growth, and at the same time, it will positively reinforce the balance sought and give you time to play in nature and get your fingernails dirty… even when y'all only get to see each other "on the clock." I'm SO excited to see what comes of the rescue this year; I love how y'all are doing things in a way that serves your human and feline communities so well.

  5. Omg girls. I was listening calmly and 0.5 seconds after Bethany mentioned letters I started bawling my eyes out like crazy. This is so scary. I’m so happy you both survived this and proud of you for finding strength to survive. Please please please take of yourself first πŸ™πŸ»

I’m so glad you girls have each other ❀ love you so much

  6. Bethnay, it's such a huge achievement that you got help with your depression! There have been times in my life (Major Depressive Disorder for 42 years now), when I didn't get the help I needed because I thought it was someone else's's time because I wasn't worth it. So I am incredibly proud of you! I am doing well today due to TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation). I think you journey and Mary's will show people not to lose hope.

  7. Mental and physical self care = be sure to put on your oxygen mask before assisting others. Don't be running up and down the aisles telling everybody else to put their masks on, then die because you didn't have one on.

  9. The autistic social mirroring feedback loop is real and strange
I’m lucky in that I have the ability to just hit my β€œfake it til you make it” social script and sidestep it

  10. This is definitely animal special interest autistic women friends GOALS! It may help Bethany get over the internalized ableism (which is such a neurodivergent generational trauma!) where she thinks her hobbies need to also be "productive", that for autistics being able to access & emerge ourselves in our special interests is literally how we prevent burnout. I mean, 2/3 autistics have experienced homelessness*, suicidal ideation, & in autistic women, chronic pain disabilities. The vast majority of millennial/gen z autistics are unvalued in capitalism, so unemployed, & live with extremely toxic ableist boomer/gen x undiagnosed neurodivergent parents who weaponize their internalized ableism against us as emotional abuse. All together, its no wonder our avg life expectancy is only 39 yrs old! I am unlikely to make it to 45 myself, as my lifeline that makes living in poverty on disability, dealing with knowing I'm a financial burden to my neurodivergent parents, & severe/gaslit chronic pain with my only available treatment being constantly threatened by medical/government opioiphobia, being my 18yr old emotional support cat who has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease. When he goes I go. However it is quite comforting & pride inducing that you 2 fellow spirits in neurodivergent animal care are out there, able to live your dreams! Its something all (except maybe the autistic incels) autistics deserve in life, so every one of use able to achieve it needs to be celebrated & normalized!

*poverty also comes with lack of access to special interests as we are in " survival mode" & also re-experiencing cPTSD that 99% of autistics develop by adulthood)
