“It's everywhere”: WSDOT deals with more and more taggers illegally spray painting freeway property.

“It’s everywhere”: That’s the message from Washington State Dept. of Transportation officials about graffiti on state highways in #Seattle. Taggers are illegally spray painting names, symbols, and designs on freeway property and WSDOT paints over it with gray paint to match the concrete. But it’s becoming a growing issue and state troopers say if you see something suspicious, report it.

  1. It's 🎨 artwork people. Please give me a break. WSP has alot more to worry about tagging 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️if the artist dies doing their work it's OK. Really this is not news or a issue. Can we report more on rent control and affordable housing and stability

  2. I just visited friends in Vancouver, BC. It was pristine. Driving back into this blighted, messy city of Seattle was depressing. I asked my friends why Vancouver, BC is so pristine, clean and full of fun outdoor venues. Their response, "You get what you pay for." Hard answer, but these two cities illustrate this truth. California cities have mobile paint trucks that just keep going and stay ahead of the tagging.

  3. WSDOT has failed the people of Washington state for years. The Legislature should be hauling in WSDOT's administrators into public hearings to bring accountability for the lack of leadership in cleaning up homeless camps and the graffiti.
