It is Not Enough to Condemn Hate Speech; All Its Drivers Need to Be Punished -Okali

The government should take this very seriously because the monster that hate speech and ethnic bigotry would create could last for decades.

  1. The way Nigeria has been created and governed even animals will struggle to survive. Let our politicians stop worshipping the devil and embrace light and restructure the country to give every tribe a sense of belonging or breakup.

  2. Which government are you still talking about when it's the same government that initiated this Ethnic profiling against the igbo Ethnic race right from the 2023 general election when the INEC disfranchised many people of igbo stock, to preventing them from voting in lagos state. As if enough is not enough the Presidential election suffered a questionable glicht. Okay since that ellection till now, can't you see how many igbo businesses that have been either burnt down or structures demolished including multibillion naira buildings that have been demolished. This next level of quit notice can not be swept over the carpet unless may be those who are in a position to take action are still waiting for Ruwanda to happen before they take the needed action.

  3. Punished which drivers? Did anyone punish the Igbos when they were actively burning the Hausas and Fulani trucks in Southeast and declaring that Hausas and Fulanis would not be allowed to live in Southeast nor build mosques in their region? Did anyone complain?

  4. Tinubu is both a perpetrator and an enabler of etho-religious bigotry. His nepotistic ,skewed appointments define him as a tribal bigot. Why won't Yorubas who think like him be emboldened to threaten Igbos when the administration is literally theirs?

In the 2019 election cycle, Tinubu incited violence that disenfranchised Igbos in many parts of Lagos. Again in 2023, he unleashed thugs who violently attacked Igbos, even in the run-up to the elections;many of whom were either maimed or k***ed. Even after the elections, several businesses owned by Igbos were torched by Tinubu-sponsored thugs. The threats against Igbos that have persisted is because Tinubu never spent a word to condemn the acts of electoral violence committed against Igbos in Lagos and elsewhere in the Southwest. Instead, the likes of Bayo Onanuga doubled down with more threats against Igbos, and he has continued to incite violence against Igbos.
Igbos must be vigilant and prepared to defend themselves against aggression

  5. Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, before he became president has been playing, sponsoring and promoting ethnic bigotry especially against Igbos for political gains. Every non-Yoruba resident in Lagos State knows this. It's not a secret. Even his candidature and subsequent emergence as president were all rooted on a sustained hate campaign against Igbos. Over years, locations with high Igbo populations had always witnessed disenfranchisement from the organized NURTW workers in Lagos State. These perpetrators are either direct or indirect workers of the Lagos State government. They can always be caught if the government of Lagos State wants to do so. But unfortunately, nobody has ever been punished for it.
Seriously, I don't see a Tinubu presidency taking this seriously, unless it snowballs into a mayhem, which we don't pray for.

  6. The Igbos are loud and carry a complex around.. They think they should always be right. That have been consistent in demonizing Northerners and Muslims .. This time around, they are having a piece of their kind of cake…so they are crying foul😮
