  1. I think a lot of people overlook the darker moment's like this. I think for a lot of people, they're so focused on Aang's avatar state and the fight happening with Zuko, they don't get a chance to consider that an entire people is wiped out in genocide.

  2. YESSSSS!!!! You will NOT regret watching this "kids" show!!! Season 1 is great, 2 is when it really picks up, and 3 is a masterpiece, and my favorite! Here for the ride…..again! Enjoy!

  3. Loving your reaction to the beginning. I agree that it's not a kids show from the beginning. There are no wasted episodes in this show (Well except for that 1 we all dislike). They get straight to business with storytelling and character and world building all through season 1 which is important to learn before the plot thickens.

  4. This ain't a kids show? This is exactly why Mark Hamill, who lent his voice to one character, said, after reading the script, that the series was probably going to be cancelled after 4 episodes because it was "too smart" for kids, compared to others. It's a children's show, but not for a moment does it treat them as fools.

  5. Loved your guys reaction to Vox Machina, which clearly is impacted from avatar. All the CR cast loves Avatar and Keyleths story is clearly (and respectfully) based on the 4 elements from Avatar.

I'm totally hear to rewatch the entire show with you guys. My only observation is that while Netflix is publishing their version of season 1, they are already adding elements of season 2 and 3. I agree with your strategy to try to finish at least season 2 by 2/22 before you watch the Netflix adaptation.

  6. Glad to see you guys reacting to this amazing work. Nice to see you laughing and having a good time with the snow. And it just gets better from here.

Also, crazy idea I just had. The fire nation armors in Southern Air Temple are burnt. So maybe there were some inner conflict since they probably would not be so happy in being ordered to genocide an entire civilization.

  7. Believe it or not, the folks saying the first season is childish compared to the rest are right. This show, despite having a lot of great jokes, is very much full of death, the horrors of war, and the suffering caused by a hostile foreign occupation. It's still a great show- genuinely one of the best ever. I look forward to seeing you guys go through it- it's a wild ride!
