  1. Have you guys considered playing 2 characters each. I feel like the game is more interesting that way. More strategic. With just 2 character both characters basically have to be generalists.

  2. You really have to be in an adventure/exploration mindset to enjoy the game. If you go for an efficiency, and pure boardgame mindset, you won't have a good time. Just have fun, and forget AP.

I've played through the game already and i can tell you this without spoilers: If you go to every planet, and explore everything like i did, you're going to get about twice the amount of resources you need. So don't worry about discoveries, ranking up, success tokens, and getting "everything". There's more than enough opportunities. You're going to be swimming in all that stuff by the end.

And as a result of that i have a suggestion: i would say the best way to play probably would be with all 3 deadly space rules modifiers.
1, Possible death: because it's quite hard to die with the basic rules, so there's not much peril, also if someone would die(well…4th injury) you have to redo the whole mission again under normal rules, which always sucks in campaign games.
2, mutiny rule: wouldn't change much, i've almost never had lower than medium morale
3, harder to get discoveries: you will get more than you need so you never really need to think about them under standard rules

  3. This video answered my question whether one can “grind” a planet several times to advance your resarch and production. This one you clearly can, only it doesn’t give you enough successes to rank up the way you played it. If it was my campaign, I’d redo the same planet again next, while it still is familiar. But I guess for the stream you might want to switch planets.

  4. My take on mesmerize : you do as much as you can. In this case : choose a die color to exhaust (at least one die) , you cannot choose any color , so you dont do anything. Thematic wise: you are too tired to be distracted by pretty colors

  5. This rulebook is, in my opinion, very well written and I have not found any gray areas or obscure situations that was not answered in the rulebook yet. Layout is a little jumbled but the glossary at the back really saves it there. I included the page numbers for the whole mesmerize situation in my response below to an incorrect assumption of how the rules work.
