The Australian Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says the rescue of four hostages from the central Gaza Strip is an “enormous morale boost” for the Israelis.
The three men and one woman who had been kidnapped from the Nova music festival on 7 October have been rescued by the Israeli Special Forces.
Israeli Defence Forces report that Hamas is still holding more than 137 hostages.
“This harks back to the heroic Israel of the Entebbe raid; rescuing their own citizens and others,” Mr Sheridan said.

Israel does not recognise that the rescue of 4 hostages took the lives of 274 civilians. My guess based on observation of Israeli society is that the rescued hostages wouldn't care either. Some might say that the civilians deserved it but how many of the 274 do you think were involved in the kidnapping and holding of these hostages. All these efforts also claimed the lives of 3 other hostages, is a net gain of one hostage worth the lives of 274 Palestinians?
