Israel-Iran: World leaders condemn Tehran's "unprecedented" attack, urge de-escalation

Tensions in the Middle East continue to rise following Iranโ€™s recent attack on Israel, with world leaders responding over the weekend with condemnation and calls for de-escalation. The United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, the European Commission and G7 leaders have all demanded that Iran cease attacks completely.

โ€œThe Middle East is on the brink. The people of the region are confronting a real danger of a devastating full-scale conflict. Now is the time to defuse and de-escalate,โ€ UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said at a UN Security Council meeting.

European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen reaffirmed the blocโ€™s unwavering commitment to Israelโ€™s security and announced that further discussions would take place on additional sanctions against Iran after the โ€œunprecedentedโ€ attack, specifically on its drone and missile programs.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also confirmed that British military jets shot down drones launched by Iran and emphasized the need for calm to prevail, while Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Canada โ€œunequivocally condemnsโ€ Iranโ€™s attacks and that โ€œwe stand with Israel.โ€

Jordanโ€™s Prime Minister has warned that against any escalation could lead to โ€œdangerous paths,โ€ and Germany has expressed its full solidarity with Israel.

  1. โคโ€๐Ÿ”ฅโœž๐“†ชMy friends, I want you to remember the message I preached and that you believed and trusted. YOU WILL BE SAVED BY THIS MESSAGE if you hold firmly to it. But if you don't, your faith was all for nothing. I told you the most important part of the message exactly as it was told to me. This part is: -` ๐Ÿšจ โฐ ยด- CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS, AS THE SCRIPTURES SAY. HE WAS BURIED, AND THREE DAYS LATER HE WAS RAISED TO LIFE, AS THE SCRIPTURES SAY. >>1 CO 15:1-4 CEV

  2. Must have missed "world leaders" when they condemned the breach of international law when Israel attacked the Consulate of Iran in Damascus and killed Iranian citizens. Of course, the Global West only abides by international law when such law serves its own ends.

  4. It's perfectly acceptable for israel to attack a diplomatic mission, something that is completly unacceptable and yet it appears iran has no right to retaliate to defend itself, something tells me the brits and the yanks are going to pay a heavy price for this one.

  7. IDF murdered 30K Palestine, nobody in G7 said anything against Israel. Can someone tell G7 leaders to go fly kite. Bunch of losers. G7 better beware, 80% of world population are developing and 3rd world nations, poor and highly in debt due to these imperialists. Don't forget how a "republic" was born in the first place.

Imagine three people working together, lifting heavy rocks. One is tired and says, "It's hard work." The second one says, "I'm doing it for money." The third one proudly says, "I'm building a temple."

Building a temple seems easier because it gives a bigger purpose. This is the key to finding happiness in any situation, including difficult ones. We can always dream of bigger and better things if we think of a higher goal, and we would thus be wise to always try to do something important, as it gives us a reason to work.

Setting goals thus helps us find happiness, even in tough times. If our goal is like building a temple, the hard work feels lighter. Also, if we aim at a great goal in life, we can inspire others to also set a great goal for themselves, leading with a positive example. Simply put, having meaningful goals and inspiring examples can change how we all work toward happier lives.
