כל אחד נקרא לעמוד על המשמרת, כל אדם מישראל נדרש עכשיו לתפקיד בלי דיחוי. הילדים שלנו, השכנים והחברים מגויסים ללוחמה, ולנו בעורף יש משימה גדולה, להתפלל עליהם ולבקש על שלום ישראל.

מתוך הבירור נכוון לכוח העליון, משום שהוא המקור לכל מה שקורה לנו. אין כאן עניין דתי, אלא הסקה שהכוח שהוליד ומנהל את המציאות הוא אחד, וכנגדו עלינו להיות אחד. "כאיש אחד בלב אחד".
חייבים להשתדל להכניס את הכוח הזה העליון שכולו אחדות לתמונת המציאות שלנו. לקחת את כל הקושי והכאב ולפנות איתם אליו בבקשה שידביק, שיאחה, שירפא. שיקרב בינינו ואליו. לבקש להיות קרובים בליבנו לכל חלק וחלק בעם, ולא רק בגלל שיש מלחמה עכשיו, אלא משום שזה תפקידנו.
לא יניחו לנו להיות בפירוד בלי שנסבול מכך, בגלל שנועדנו להיות אומה שחיה לפי החוק של "ואהבת לרעך". ואין הפסק בדרישה מאיתנו למלא את ייעודנו. כמו ילד שהולך לבית הספר, ובסוף היום כבר מונחים לו בתיק שיעורי הבית למחר, כך אנחנו נדרשים לקבל כל יום את השיעור בחיבור שלנו. והלוואי שלא נצבור יותר פיגור ונזדרז לתקן את הלב, נעמוד כולם על המשמרת בעבור ילדינו, שכנינו וחברינו.
