About the Project:
Sunset City is a series based on the US state of Florida. Not just taking inspiration from the most iconic tourist destinations or glamorous beaches, Sunset City will focus on capturing the entire state from North to South. We will cover such cities as Miami, Tampa and Orlando, as well as some towns in between. Most importantly Florida’s natural landscaping spanning from the tropical beaches to the vast wetlands of the Everglades.

  1. Wow what a nice video. That community you built in there could probably be named "Cape Carol" or "Key Carol". You could probably get away with a train stop there too. Not even a full station but you could probably upgrade a small section of the track to a station track and just connect it up with a run down looking path. I mean this is the 1980's, American commuter rail wasnt exactly doing well in this decade, and having a tun down station that is just a bit of asphalt besides the track is just perfect for the theme. You could probably also say the original station building got sold and thorn down to make way for one of the sketchy businesses.

  2. I would love to see a rendition of Marathon Airport in the Keys, I know the scale might be challenging. It is a beautiful airport to fly into. Nothing beats flying 500 feet over that gorgeous blue water!

  3. When GTA VI comes out (in 2050 probably) I'd love to compare this to what the map will look like. Cause it does seems like there will be the Keys, swamp lands and some outlying cities too.

  5. 15:15 if you find the solution, please let us know because I also get the same issue sometimes. This sort of problems especially started after I switched to these new prop anarchy mods instead of old ones (real old ones)

  6. I think there's precedent for a rail line to the resort. I know its the wrong side of the country but Santa Cruz, a city you partly recreated in marble mountain, has an excursion train going between the boardwalk and a town in the mountains, and there were occasional excursion trains operated by SP going into the Bay Area until around the 90s

  7. The 3 red roofed building could be a Naval Academy and the really long pier could be put there too.
You might need a couple of gun batteries. One each side.
That way it leads into Fort Jackson.

  8. Interesting that you're building a railroad down the keys. Originally, an industrialist who owned the Florida East Coast Railway, built the original railroad down to Key West. Though it was an expensive endever, However, a massive hurricane back in the 20's or 30's heavily damaged the line to a point where it was not feasible for the railroad company to repair it.

I think it eventually ended up in ownership of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (or at least they worked on the re-construction) to built the Overseas Highway right on top of the old line. They even used rails from the old track to fashion guard rails. Using the old bridges as well. However, that too was washed out by a hurricane.

Eventually, they decided to build a brand new highway bridges adjacent to the old bridges. I imagine they would have done this eventually as the road deck on the old bridge was much too narrow for modern cars. Anyway, many pieces of the old bridge spaces still exists next to the new bridges. While closed to car traffic, many sections are open to pedestrian traffic as makeshift piers for recreational activities such as fishing.
