Island Boat Repairs – Sailing the Caribbean

In today’s episode we are preparing for a 200 mile offshore passage from Portsmouth, Dominica to Grenada. When I fire up the engine I notice a severe diesel leak and our plans change. Trying to find replacements or reliable help while traveling the caribbean can be tough at times, but today we’re lucky. Not only do we find a body shop to help us weld the fuel line, but we find the local mechanic everyone has been telling me about who just might be able to help us fix the broken anchor windlass. Tough times never last, only tough people last.

  1. Good thinking! Spare parts for future repairs. Maybe checking for the ones that may be difficult to acquire when traveling. Excellently done! Good job!
