Isaiah Thomas and Adrian Dantley were teammates on the Pistons during the late 1980s. Together they came within one win of an NBA championship… and also developed a deep-seated beef that still exists today. Huh? What? Why? That first part sounded so nice and promising!
Well, it’s hard to share a spotlight and harder when your acrimonious relationship heightens the insecurities and regrets of your career. It’s beef time!

What a pleasure to hear such a talented and professional voice over artist, along with excellent audio engineering.
So much misinformation in this video.
She says ‘Dantley never had an issues with anyone’ but then goes into detail with what a cancer he was.
Moral of the story: "You can't be a guest in someone's crib, and get involved in the business of moving his furnitures and redecorates the place. " AD should have understood the dynamics of the team, and play ball! But he wanted things done his way!!! Instead he got the boot!!
Any ol skool Pistons fans on here upset about what transpired please knock it off.
We had better team better chemistry after Dantley and won our our first championship.
That Pistons team that won back to back had the best bench I've ever seen from top to bottom. All the way down to the last man on the bench.
On paper, Aguirre and Dantley were pretty similar. But then you add that one was ready to fall in line and the other not as much, the trade makes sense.
This narrator is on point, interesting point of view!
Can’t wait to see Pat Bev beef history with everybody
I could run through a brick wall after I hear Clara Morris say, "Goodnight and Good Game."
3:53 That's my beloved 80's Hawk's Jon Koncak on D, the only man in the history of the NBA to have a shoe deal with Buster Brown.
This feels like a largely one sided beef
Wasn't it RODMAN who made the comment about Bird and Isiah just agreed?
Excellent video (as always) but does anyone know the name of the background song from the 12 minute mark and beyond?
Whoever did the narration should get more credit…. I didn't think I would watch the whole clip, but I did…
Isiah never said that about Bird. Fake news.
Who isn't Isiah beefing with?
Karma came back to haunt isaiah on the form of a Dream Team snub…
AD was truly a monster player.
As a mavs fan, Dantley gets no sympathy. he sulked his entire time here. so unprofessional.
Don't worry AD Isaiah was blackballed out of the Dream Team by a better player called MJ.
Isaiah Thomas is very sneaky. Magic was his friend yet he headed the derailment of magic being able to play once Magic said he had HIV. He could have jus said nothing. That’s why he wasn’t wanted on the Dream Team. Lil mister con man.
In the book The Franchise it is said that Dantley told Thomas he will never forgive him for getting him traded.
Isiah Thomas beefing with someone? Hmmm…that’s odd 🙄
Wherther Zeke pushed for it or not it was best for the team, so Dantley should just admit he wasnt the right fit.
It was Rodman who made that statement not Thomas
I know they finally beat my Celtics the year they got Aguire but Dantley was a problem. Celts had no one big and quick enough to guard him.
Always love the Secret Base breakdown of every beef. Even if they're ones we know about, the detail and compilation of sources makes it so much more interesting to watch
The 1984 series with the Knicks is my favorite playoff series of all time.
Isiah is my favorite player ever, but my love for AD is right there. AD was a one on one magician, watching him play was like drinking the finest aged wine money can buy. Nobody can ever say anything bad to me about ADs tenure with my Pistons.
Baaaadddd Boyyyyyysss Baddddddd Boysssss
Isiah didn't win the beef what are you talking about! Now I really understand why Michael Jordan doesn't like Isiah. You have a lot haters who sneak diss people on the low and show jealousy. I have to agree with Adrian and Michael on their opinions of Isaiah.
