If you actually want the best gear and everything, then no, you can't be a casual. But if you don't care about that then you can find your fun in other aspects of the game, there is content for all types of players. I am personally not the type that has the dedication to get into the most hardcore aspects of games because that would require to basically play that game and that game only for a long time. I have other games in my backlog that I'd like to play before I die, I can't commit to just one game.
the damn dungeon finder is annoying on large servers too (mine is full, though no queues).
– people join and leave immediately, probably because of the next two points
– people sign up for the wrong things
– people forget they are locked out – why does it even let you sign up for these?
– people don't go to the dungeon, it's ok if there is up to three of these but sometimes you get 4 lazy people, making you all wait extra long
– it still has that bug where players are listed as 78/79 for hcs so they will not be invited unless the ones looking for members know to check
– if you do anything outside of northrend it's a pain to get back so "catching up on old quests and rep grinds" is basically incompatible with also farming dungeons
=> this is extremely casual unfriendly. it's not fun or a good use of time to hit refresh in a tool while also begging for players in trade. we have to do more annoying shit with the tool than without it it's amazing
I was a wow player from the very beginning and as funny as it sounds I do miss the time when I didn't know what logs were.
10 years ago any down was good even a crappy one. Well there was demand for doing better but hey.
For the first time I was in a guild in BC with boss downed and people more unhappy than when not downing a boss 10 years earlier because the logs were not that good.
Funny isn'it ?
after now playing, its not impossible
You realize the game wouldn’t exist without casuals. The majority of players are casual. No casuals means no subscriptions therefore the game wouldn’t be viable
When you have a kid and adult responsibilities you know an actual LIFE you have to play wow casually. Wow is like a full time job if you're a no lifer and I feel sorry for anyone that describes…. I'd rather casually enjoy wow and have a LIFE than be some smelly virgin no lifer who actually thinks doing stuff in a fake world is a life accomplishment….
warmane the most ❤️
Here's the deal.. its 5 minutes to learn how to play… every 2 fucking weeks then they change an you have to relearn, repeat until death! Bro fuck that spam the slam hammer an give me DPS or heals!!!!
Not gonna lie been clearing 25 man kel every week making my own raids and had no clue wtf warcraft logs were til today
Wotlk is extremely casual friendly decent catch up gear that's not just handed to you. 10 man's that are basicly LFR versions of retail. And content such as hc dungeons ect for them to do.
I left WoW Retail because all the content is running M+ and raiding – basically min-maxing if you want to be good in this content – at least that has been my experience. But I got so bored of running Other Side 8 times in a row for a high key drop, so yeah, I quit it.
Started playing Wrath earlier this week and enjoying every second. I took a Shaman I abandoned at level 19 when TBC released and only reached 31 yesterday (work eating most of my day, obviously) and honestly: I love it. Looking for quests I can handle and coming back to the ones I wasn’t able to do 3 levels ago, profession leveling and so on – it’s actually fun. I’m not running optimized leveling routes and thanks to the lack of time I haven’t had the energy to run WC, RK or anything alike – but I’m just enjoying the game. As someone too young to have played the original WotLK, finally having a proper experience with the classic version is just amazing. I love this expansion so much, it’s pure fun
Lmao haven't asmon played with the same community for like 10 years? I think its gonna be different for a new player
wotlk is great for casuals just join the lfg system its super simular to retail imo. just no random q. in a way i wish they had a Q for normal raid and the diffulculties with required ilvs like lfr while keeping pug raid and grp raid loot, and difficulty the same. The tanks being shit would probably be a problem but nothing that the system could overcome i bet.
if you’re doing something where you impact other people, i reckon you should at least look up the in game stuff on the boss
if GUS can get thrugh Naxx everybody can !
"Probably not that many wipes" – he said as I was struggling to wipe my ass 😆
All bout group finder
Got asked for my gearscore trying to do a normal AN earlier xD i just logged off
im not happy for wotlk classic.. is very bad with boost 70😔 i love drama..it makes me live in game…. welcome to new world
Casual? you mean cringe?
i only got kicked once from a raid so the dk loot could go to a different dk
2:37 You are wrong, things like wrong talent points, enchants etc never can be main cause of wipe. They can make kill easier, But real cause of wipe always lies in tactics. Of course there are few extremely dps check bosses but if lack of enchant decides group's wipe or not. That is extremely small case. But getting better at tactics and doing your rotation better will probably yield 100x better chance of killing the boss. If you are doing everything perfect other than enchants etc, then you are a type of player who enchants anyway, so this case is not really valid. Also there isn't such thing as "casual" or "hardcore" it is not 1 and 0 you know. It is completely relative. In terms of PvE I am casual compared to heroic raider, non-raider is casual compared to me. Also there is other aspects of game like PvP, achievements. So will you call a person casual if he has Grand Marshal but never entered a heroic raid once. Of course people shouldn't expect gettin in to heroic group with green gear and and random talent points. But for example pvp specs can do perfectly in pve if they do tactics right. But toxic elitist players doesn't agree that and say "oh mg you have pvp talents such noob, you are not maximizing your damage, i am going to ignore you." Those people literally cancer and shouldn't be allowed to create pugs or interacting anyone other than people in their own guild, who are probably like themselves. Edit: misunderstandable typo
short comment answer.
Yes.
why?
Because i did it when it came out the first time.
Bro,do you remember the day there were actually no logs and dps meters ? Well let me tell you something – those were the times when you actually had fun playing ! Nowadays everything is fkin numbers ! No fun at all ! Just hit those numbers and you're done.
Yeah, I play, and I'm a casual. Kick me out.
This sounds like satire, except I think he's serious. "Can you imagine there are people who raid and don't even use damage meters?". Lol. YES!! Not everyone approaches it like a career, but liek a gasp game.
I’m casual and having fun. None of these dudes are paying my subscription (not asmon), speaking in generalities
I think Blizzard missed their chance to add RDF. I don't understand the reluctance. They added heirlooms. Check. Boosted Characters. Check. SOM. Check. No RDF though. The LFG feature is rubbish.
The servers I am on are deader than a post. It impossible to find groups. The guilds I joined are doing Naxx, but nothing else. There is a game 1 to 79 and I wanted to experience the dungeons which I found to be exceptional.
Some people are friendly your first time in a raid or dungeon, if you ask someone will usually tell you what you need to pay attention to

WOTLK classic is definitely sweatier than it was back in the day because of how long the game has been out. That being said, you don't have to 99 parse to get into pubs.
You can play as a casual if you only play one character. It will take you ages to level up to level 80 and if you find a good guild you can use your 3 slots per week to run HC dungeons or get into raiding with friends but you will fall behind and if you are OK with that then you can do it. If you want to keep up with the rest, forget it. Find another game.
I basically play solo, don’t have a guild because of my weekly changing work schedule and can only really play once or twice a week at a good peak time if I’m lucky and I have 4.3k bis holy spec and two 4.1k gs off specs and another alt with 4.2k all from sr pugs, this is the most casual friendly tier I’ve experienced in a long time
As someone who hasnt played wow. Should I play wow classic before wotlk even though I missed TBC? Should I go straight to wotlk or can I play both consecutively? When I open my game launcher it has wow classic, wotlk and retail. I am not sure how to best get into it.
"id get to 80, run some 5 mans, try to sneak myself into a raid" kek true tho, thats how you get out of that phase. like a job want experience but need experience
WoW, the one game that hates its playerbase, I am happy that i quit, LOTRO is more alive than this garbage.
As a casual you can be full BiS easily. I play on average 2 hours a day, less or not at all on normal days and 4 hours on my 2 raid days. That's it. I only play on my Paladin. Have bis for ret, and almost bis for prot. It helps finding yourself a decent guild and being a good player+loyal+becoming friends with them. I even have almost full pvp bis, only have 2 deadly pieces the rest are hateful (did not find anyone to do arenas with)
Me and a friend play WOW so different that its like we play 2 different games.
For him, WOW is the same as raid, and that is it.
He do not even care to look at the new world, because he do not have time for that..
I am always 100% relaxed when i play and love to take my time, he is always in a 100% run mode and super stressed about maxing up his gear(that he will lose in the next expansion anyway)
Side-quests are just something insane to do for him.. lol
wow.. ask the wrong question because it is your first time in a raid, and you will kick them out..
At the same time you tell people to not be a a..hole..
