  1. It is not a big deal as Sky News makes it. There are alternative waterways. In the current Red Sea crisis, shipping companies redirect to Cape of Good Hope, it costs higher shipping costs, but not a dooming situation.

  2. Strong India will influence Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific security with Australia, Japan and Sokor. Hoping all ASEAN members will think not only the Philippines will resist the Chinese illegal expansion. They will be next marching to their doorstep.

  3. this malacca straits isn't only use by china. this strait is key route for entire world. this straits is controlled by Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. all 3 have very good relation to China. can't say the same to India, Europe, US, Japan (countries that support Israel).

  4. If US sees Taiwan as its allied, why US did not recognise Taiwan as a sovereign nation and established an embassy there?
Only a couple of small nation recognised Taiwan as a sovereign nation. None of G7 or Western countries do so.
Is it because of they fear the pressure from China? If so, why small nation such as Guatemala and Palau did not afraid of China?

  5. I am Malaysian and I know that we and our neighbour Indonesia will not agree to any hegemonic power to block the strait. Everyone will enjoy the freedom to traverse the strait, including China.

  6. it's an over exaggerated issue, China will get its way from Indonesia and its not much a distance from Malacca, also why Malayasia and Indonesia will ever allow someone to block this strait

  7. Malacca strait is not really the Achilles' heel of China, Indonesian water is.
That's why they poured a lot of money into our economy.
South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia account for 80% of China investment in the region.

  8. The Malacca Straits is a far more bigger problem for US allies. South Korea, Japan, Taiwan are totally dependant on imported energy and trade, far more than China.
China is much more likely to block the Straits and can do so without using ships or submarines. The Andamans and the Malacca Straits is within China A2AD range. Satellites these days can track anything on the surface.

  9. It would be pretty dumb for India to get involved in some blockade when these Andaman bases are within PLA missile range.
And it is ridiculous to think that China is surrounding India. Just look at the map of India. Even if China established bases in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, that would possibly cover only less than 10% of India's access to the Indian Ocean.
    Idiotic theory.

  10. The U.S. has over 750 Overseas Military Bases around the World , with 313 Military Bases surrounding China w/

Warships & Missiles . China should be scared of the threats from the US and its allies .

  11. The Malacca strait is a temporary problem. China is building out solar/wind at break neck speed. In addition CHina has also dramatically increased its oil import from Russia. And can increase its gas imports from Russia as well.
