  1. The thing is, I just don't know why I should support this game.
Even if the footage is from very early development :
    – Creature designs is meh
    – Gameplay seems not that fun
    – It already failed twice
    – Everything that was shown, Palworld did it better (and that's coming from someone who's not a fan of the game)

I feel like they should cut their losses and go in a completely separate direction or at least find something truly new to make them stand out.
Right now, it just feels like a sunk-cost fallacy problem.

  2. A good starting point would be to release a playable demo. Beyond that though? I dunno. They're going to have to come up with something pretty impressive to carve out a niche in what Palworld established.

The question I would ask this CEO is "What will your game do better than Palworld?". If he can't answer that question there's a problem. O dunno if I would buy "another Palworld" tbh. It makes more sense to me to just wait for more Palworld to get more content since that won't cost me more money.

  3. 2 things that id say personally thst I want in genral is a more mature gameplay and world, not really a happy go lucky, i want a ecosystems the good and the horifying, the other point would be fluid animations, which would be built over time, to really sell that these creatures are in a lived in world

  4. The way I got pulled into pal world was the marketing. Seeing that first video years ago had me fascinated with the game. Mainly because I enjoy playing games that let me fight alongside the monsters in my team. And pal world delivers that. Sure it's bugy and doesn't work about half the time, but I'm able to do so much in this game that I've wanted to do and enjoy playing.
So mixture of first marketing and gameplay pulled me into pal world.

  5. I know the game is like in an early state and no offence to the devs but the monster designs look a little… unrefined? Like they remind me of things I see in Roblox games made by very young devs with very little experience making games. They're not totally hideous but I feel like Anitons will have go through a bit of a visual upgrade before trying to market itself as an alternative to Palworld.

  6. they need to seriously do something about the bloody casual wear clothes xD, looks so out of plac ed wearing a striped jumper and a pair of jeans xD that alone turns me off a lil tbh.

  7. I'm gonna be blunt and simply say: no, they can not make a comeback.

They already had their chance. Twice. Both times Anitons failed. And now that Palworld has come and claimed that niche for itself, Aniton's chance of success is even lower.

Combined with the fact that I've seen this CEO's messages on Discord. One clear thing is that this CEO is completely clueless about what to do with this game. So at the moment, there's zero chance Anitons will ever work.

Let's just face it: Anitons is a dead game. With its shaky history and CGG failing to deliver not only Anitons but also Wolfkins, any chance of reviving it is doomed to failure.

  8. Honestly if they focus in and refine some stuff I think they could pull it off, pal world taking off the way it did proves there’s a market for the ark plus Pokémon style of game, I think if they market it as an alternative to pal world without the things that could be considered unsavoury ( slavery, mistreatment of monsters, guns etc) then they might find a market. The biggest problem is how unfocused they seem to be about everything. But hopefully they can pull through and help build up the 3D side of Mon games.

  9. This games major issue is the visual design and I'm not just talking about monster designs. Even Palworld, while not having the greatest player character options, has a unique style to them. The player characters look like generic Xbox Live or Metaverse avatars and are super off putting.

  10. There is plenty of room to iterate on palworld. A story, as well as cities and towns, base building improvements etc… Personally, I’d love to see a turn based battle system in a game like this. Honestly this world feels more cohesive than palworld. The art style however isn’t very appealing (Especially in the character designs). I’d love to see this studio take a shot on it, but the trailer hasn’t convinced me to contribute to a kickstarter.

Sometimes I wish I could mash indie studios together. This game looks like it would mash together well with Temtem

  11. Man, that "little" comment about someone saying that it sounds like they are just trying to get the community to make the game for them by asking the questions that the CEO asked is harsh as crap! I would have never thought someone would openly suggest that the creator of a game if asking the community for a little bit of direction on something that he is pretty much being lazy and not wanting to build it himself. I don't know if I'm reading too much into it or not but that really struck a nerve hearing that. That's someone being a real jerk. But then again, there are real jerky people especially inside of these comment forums. I mean, it's like game categories. For all the logic in the world where the base of something makes sense people cannot let it go and are more worried about their personal feelings. I'm constantly hearing people harping on other people's success and accomplishments. I clearly understand where the CEO is coming from, to an extent. I get that he's needing a little bit of insight and direction. Often times, these games and everything around them get awfully big and everything gets kind of spread out in a little out of control pretty quick. I don't know, maybe the guy that made that snidey little comment is just so awesome of a guy and maybe he has 30 games that are AAA titles that he made himself that are so awesome that he would never release them to the public because we just couldn't handle it because they're just too awesome cuz he's such an awesome guy.

  12. I have backed some games on Kickstarter. About 2/3 failed to deliver, even ones that had good looking working demos at the time the Kickstarter launched. The ones that were successful were 1-4 years late and could be picked up at 40%-50% off about 6 months after release. If the game has an online component then it is likely to be shut down within a year because of ongoing server costs. Today I wouldn't risk more than $10 on a game Kickstarter no matter how good it looks.

  13. Okay, the Palworld effect is going strong, this is the second game i see being affected.

The first one being My Time at Sandrock (sequel to My Time at Portia, a farming/crafting game) adding monster taming elements and mechanics, looks like you can tame creatures and use them in combat. Dont know how in deep is, and probably was in development before Palworld release, but the timing for the announcement for sure is using Palworld hype.

The more i think about it, Palworld looks like a good thing for the genre, since bow it has more eyes on it

  14. Palworld has a lot of thongs going for it. When it dropped it had an immediate identty and look. A pokemon ripoff woth guns and savagery. People thought it was a memetic joke, aince the guns looked like regular assets added for grittiness, and you saw the cute pokemonesque creatures being brutalized and weildng firearms.

So it was able to stay in peoples mind and people were able to give t identity. And for all its criticisms, it looked decent the graphics were good/passable. This game doesnt look near as good, understandable being a kickstarter. But it lacks the humor and audacity that palworld had

  15. Palworld it's complicated as crap! (For me) There is way too much going on with the game all at once in the very beginning with too much panicky aspects. I have tried to play Palworld like 5 times and it just seems all over the place. But that is only my opinion because I'm not really into complicated and complex games that cause a whole bunch of panic. I think Minecraft is about as far as I would like to go with a game being complicated and panicky from the start. I'm not trying to be gotten wrong, Palworld IS an awesome game in so many ways. To me, Palworld is phenomenal. Just because I am personally having a hard time starting the game out successfully doesn't mean it's not a right fit for a whole lot of people because a whole lot of people are having a heck of a time playing it. Quite honestly, I'm having a really good time watching people play the game. Like this content creator here, the gym leader. He has I think around 20 or 21 episodes playing palworld. I appreciate everyone's dedication with that game playing it and showing everyone all this things that can be done. I think it's really awesome to watch people that have the dexterity to maintain a game such as this. Asmongold is another person that I watch playing the game. I watch him because his personal character is enjoyable to listen to and watch. He's a pretty genuine guy and has a lot of emotions when playing lol I like watching the gym leader, this creator here for a more tutorial based gameplay. This guy sounds bright and friendly and clear and concise. Very good player! To be quite Frank, you guys are able to do what a lot of us cannot do and it allows the rest of us to get to enjoy the game all the same 🤜💥🤛

  16. i dont think this game will succeed, but i really hope it opens the doors for non-RPG monster taming games to become the trend, i'd love to see monster collecting action games or something

  17. I don't think it is a good time for this game to try a kickstarter. In a month or 2 when PalWorld hype dies down, I could see them succeeding IF they were releasing it into Early access. But asking people to kickstart a game that is a so similar to PalWorld now? I think most people would just go play PalWorld.

Additionally while I do love transparency from devs, it's not exactly inspiring confidence when the lead dev doesn't have a vision for a twice botched kick starter game. Hell between Ark, Pokemon and PalWorld he should have the blueprints he needs for a vision. So needless to say, I won't be supporting this until it's out and I see a positive review from Ed 🤣

  19. The one thing I wish Palworld had was a story. It doesn't have to be intense. Pokemon has a simple story at its core. And really most people ignore all that text that gives a more in depth story on at least the first play through. So if Anitons wants to stand out then I think it would be cool if they have towns, gyms in each town and some sort of end game like the elite 4. Things that challenge the monsters you catch while also having already establish places to explore. As for the survival part, I would have it that you can do all that outside the towns. Which wouldn't be hard to set up. Just have a boolean connected to all the survival stuff that turns off the ability to place things down while in the town.

From the clips you showed, it looks like a phone game version of Pal World. Meaning unpolished and jagged. The platforming and animations needs work, the main characters look generic and I don't see much survival for a survival game, But the monsters look cool, the exploration looks clean, the environment looks nice but a bit too bright. and was that a fusion system? This game has a lot of potential and could be great. But it doesn't seem like they have world in mind. Just a "you know what would be cool" idea.

  20. If they want to get popular I think the first thing they need to do is rework their creature designs, they honestly look like absolute crap in this video. The anime aesthetic does a lot of heavy lifting for the designs of palworld, and this game's designs look incredibly generic and super bland.

  21. Anitons has a decent art style, But it needs to redo the eyes on the monsters heavy, fix up the jank animations, and better player models. A survival game shouldn't have hoodies n regular clothes, give us armor, make the Anitons AI think for it self rather than have to direct that plesiosaur thing to do *everything*. I see a lot wrong from just this videos gameplay. Its like if Temtem tried to make palworld.

  22. Personally I think Palworld was successful because of the graphics AND because the pals look like Pokémon.
Every single YouTuber was also calling it Pokémon with guns. That really made it take off

  23. Like everyone said: Anitons had its chance.
And yes, every Pokémon clone could be dropped unless they have something special BUT the basic formular (tamer collects monsters to fight strong opponents, gyms/veterans whatever, an evil organisation to safe the world or evil himself) will always be there.

If I would make a game (old school RPG because Minecraft and Survival aren't mine):
    – Teenager as a protagonist (free editing, m/f/d)
    – a good (and serious) story with plot twists (something Pokémon missed for decades and the S/V ending doesn't make up for this with the profs)
    – a nice soundtrack with a vocal opening (Temtem is super catchy and good)
    – use multiple endings (good, normal, bad and a final end; Digimon Survive-like)
    – day and night cycle (Pokémon Gold and Silver showed how)
    – good balancing of the types (it isn't about the quantity, it's about the quality)
    – Nuzlocke mods for beginners and pros (Coromon-like rules with randomizer)
    – add a new game+ to double the fun
    – level adjustment to prevent overleveling one monster
    – difficulties
    – good KI tamers (the PokeMMO ones are a good example) with fully trained monsters
    – show EVs and IVs or fix the stats for each specie (Digimon and Coromon use this + EVs)
    – with/out natures (make them via item changeable)
    – give the monsters some kind of editing (to personalize their ball, sphere whatever and the monster, too)
    – if the graphic sucks, make it old school (Pokémon with Gen 3 graphic is enough)
    – turn-based fights (old school) or action-based fights (like FFVII Remake?)
    – don't forget a multiple and offline mode with simulators for PvP (Temtem showed how)
    – use multiple battle modes (Pokémon Gen 5 had everything and dropped it completely…)
    – no affection system or EXP share without turning it off or on (part of the nuzlocke rules)
    – items shouldn't be to accessible (like new attacks via machines) but without a heavy grind either
    – give each monster a overworld-related ability to use (this cuts, this surfs, this collects) without wasting it for battle ability (for example Robber in Coromon)
    – give a name with "mon" and "collect" to make the genre clear + a subline ("Gotta catch them all!" = Monster Taming and Collecting right in the face; Anitons says nothing…)
    – make the journey like a real one (the tamer is a living creature who needs to eat and rest, too… A tent or food would be enough)
    – a unique battle gimmick (but no Mega-Pokémon which restrict your team members like Gen 6 to 7 does) via held items
    – give each monster a memory cost to balance teams and tiers (Digimon Story CS + HM-like)

And more.. (If I missed something, answer me!)

  24. Palworld also succeeded because guns. And memes. I do not believe Anitons would be anywhere as successful without the violence. Palworld probably wouldn't be either. The memes and stuff made for a fairly viral campaign that I don't think anyone could have predicted.

  25. I think the main difference at least to me is that Palworld looked much more better and polish on their trailer that them. I mean I look at that game's trailer and I feel like is a lazy attempt to take people's money and go because the game is so unpolished and unfinished. Palworld looked very good and they showed in engine game play and looked very good and polish. This one on the other hand looks unfinished, very unfinished and that raises some red flags. Because we all have PTSD from the amount of kickstarters that are paid and them disappear without a trace. And this game looks just like that an unfinished game that could potentially be a money grab and leave because it does not seem like they have invested much on the game.
