Shoulder the mantle could give a deep striking character a shorter charge if he deep strikes next to a unit joins it and then charges! Super niche and hard to set up and still probably ultimately useless but just throwing it out there!
actually the points are accurate, its not an old codex it took them a year to make congradulations guys your own over powered crap made people call the custodes out for bieng too powerfull 😉 far more powerfull then even 5th ed grey knights 😉 .
after 6 years of perfection, im glad gw didnt just keep buffing them because most grey knight codexes are bad, and onley a handfull like 5, and 9th were good. but the others crap 3,4 8th and 10th, thats most of them and 6,7 were alittle bland but at least we had psycic. now at least you guys can feel what grey knights have for 2 decades of nerfs.
just like grey knights are 😉 honestly they can score a ton but scoring does not a good army make. custodes are still way better even after the nerfs you guys are just complaining because thier not OP
i think raising the points on custodes makes them more elite 😉 right?
yea no each custodian gaurd is a 50 point model minimum with the katahs and rerolls of 1, with t6 and a 4++ and 5 attacks their almost still double the effectiveness of a terminator, and you want a 30 point custodian because of a couple less abilities? honestly its refreshing to have them feel like grey knights still better then grey knights just harder to score you might have to think more. cant be fun unless uber cheezy right?

This codex is a trashfire and I refuse to buy it.
is the sisters of silence detachment worse than the Space wolves one?
The comments were the same with the Dark angels codex " this needs a real points decrease to be viable" and the dark angels points were not good. so i have little hope for the custodes. Dark angels still have the main marine codex to fall back on, custodes do not.

The fact Codex's like this make GW lose money should be a wake-up call to the company and make them realise that they seriously need to hire educated game designers and not supermarket managers. This is the ONLY Codex that I was looking forward to. This release personally ruined 10th edition for me. There is far too much hit-or-miss bullshit with the Codex's nowadays.
It’s such a bad codex 🙁 strategems that don’t work, very little use for free strats when detatchment revolves around shield captain use, it’s just so unsunergistic and a bunch of fluff that was not thought through. Very clear no playtesting went into this
Honestly Hoping for Second Codex now. Need a range expansion. And its obvious because of how many jet bikes were in the the bundle box. Lore might Bring Back Valdore and he is needed so bad now.

I want to chalk this up to incompetent game design, but it almost goes into malicious territory where it was written purposefully badly so that the only way to fix it is to reduce the cost of models, at which point GW says "well just buy more models. Oh, we took away the Combat Patrol with the discounted sisters? Just buy them at full price. Oh and while you're at it buy multiple copies of the other heroes like blade wizard and our new poorly designed shield captain model."
Because I can't imagine any designer that has a shred of self respect writing something that says:
"This is an EPIC DEED" and then giving it literally the worst fight on death effect IN THE ENTIRE GAME inside of a detachment that is supposed to highlight that individual Custodes are BADASS.
It's like it was intentionally written as a sick joke, but it was allowed to stay in when someone said that there was an off chance of increased model sales because of it.

Broskies the attach a character at the end of the movement phase strategem is the only thing good in auric champions what are you talking about…. it means sending a bladechamp alone 5inches away from the enemy deepstriking a guard unit 2 inches behind of him and 9 inches away from the enemy unit and you get a 5 inch deepstrike with an reroll… its the only strat getting nerft even more than the book already is
The Allarus ability "From Golden Light" changed: now it just takes them into Strategic Reserve.
