  1. he wouldnt be ready till mid season at the earliest so they have to draft a starting QB i dont want caleb willams usc QB at NFL level suck so bad, shoen screwed the pooch when he turned down jones 5th year option becuase that made both jones and barkleys contract expire at the same time as a result, he had to restructure his deal this year which is why he has that deadcap hit year 3 now which he didnt have on the original contract to get back to the 5th year option cap hit he would have been originally had he accepted the 5th year option on jones this injury would have happened without the new contract in place it is on shoen they are in this bind financially i think the team decided after the seattle game when they tanking so i think this regime is safe for another 2 years at least but they HAVE TO hit on the QB this draft and look like they are improving or they will be gone

  2. i also think they need to draft a second QB as a backup in the mid rounds of the draft so we arent overpaying a backup as they have done the last decade with tyrod and colt mccoy etc it also gives them a second bite at the QB but needs to be a russell wilson or dak level prospect i wanted jones to be the guy the OL is worse this year inspite of JMS and neal going into year 2 somehow the line is 10 times worse but he had better weapons and for the first time in his career some stability at OC and HC and was regressing even before the injuries and ultimately the injuries is why they have to reset and move on i dont like either caleb or maye i would be happier with mccarthy, pennix or nix and i trust shoen and dabol to pick the right guy as they did with allen in buffalo being part of that selection

  3. my problem with maye is his injury history which is bad we need a guy whose best ability is availability, willams is a USC QB and those suck look at thier track record and weep this is the 2018 draft all over again in my view maye and caleb or the rosen and darnold prospects which is why i am looking at one of the less highly touted guys

  4. Giants need to trade up, whatever it takes… even if its 2 1s and a 2 Rmemer when we moved up to get Eli? was it worth it?? i think so. Also remember, a #1 could be Evan Neal, Deonte Baker, Eli Apple….. need i go on? Our QB need is now DESPeRATE. Make it happen. Jones was never the guy. He's got a worse record than Dave Brown, and, Dave was playing in the post SB era which was similar wasteland to current team.

  5. So many comments saying oh don’t draft Caleb or Drake Maye cos they somehow suck. Or that these guys don’t know what they’re talking about. How about you start a YT channel with your obviously superior takes and be an armchair GM since you clearly know which QB’s pan out. So many people making criticisms without offering what their solution would be 😂

  6. "As C.J. Stroud has shown early on in his NFL career, it’s the passers with the best balance of physical talent and operational utility that find success. Both Maye and Williams have bright futures, but Maye might best fulfill that definition in the 2024 NFL Draft" -PFF

  7. I have been saying this offseason the Giants need to do 3 things to improve this offseason
1 Use cap space and draft capital to bring in Offensive lineman the line needs to be overhauled and fixed this offseason you have a LT and a C right now you need 3 starters Neal needs to be tried inside because he couldnt block me at RT

2 the Giants need to draft a QB early maybe not with their 1st pick but they need to draft a QB early

3 the Giants need to draft a #1 WR they need to draft either Marvin Harrison Jr, Keon Coleman or Malik Nabers the Giants need to add a difference maker a true playmaker at the WR position anyone of these 3 guys would do that

Don't matter how they work it I would even consider drafting Marvin Harrison Jr with the 1st pick and then packaging the 2nd round picks and future draft capital to get back in the 1st round to draft a QB like JJ McCarthy or Bo Nix, Michael Penix. Obviously if they want Calib Williams or Drake Maye then you need to take the QB first in which case it is very important they trade back in to the 1st round to get either Keon Coleman or Malik Nabers because Harrison Jr will be a top 3 pick. the rest of the draft picks need to be heavily invested in the O line

This gives the Giants a rookie QB with a better O line and a WR #1 something the Giants never gave Jones. I would bring back Saquon and move on from Slayton, Campbell and Waller. An offense of a rebuilt line a rookie QB Saquon Barkley a #1 WR Jalin Hyatt Wan' Dale Robinson and Daniel Belinger would vastly improve the offense.

I also think it is time to move on from Bobby Johnson he has done a horrible job as the O line coach I would also consider moving on from Kafka some of his play calls just make no sense to me otherwise have Daboll call the plays for a while and develop Kafka's play calling ability

  8. I would take Maye over Calib Williams simply becasue I like the larger QB and I would also consider Michael Penix Jr or JJ McCarthy both are quality guys Jayden Daniels is another guy who is a high end dual threat guy for me I prefer a pocket passer that can move around in the pocket to allow things to develop downfield I say I pay a RB to run the ball and QB is paid to much to risk injury running the ball I do understand that those plays QBs running ability creates big plays and is hard for a defense to protect against.

  9. Final thought and I would like to know what you guys think on this one I would strongly consider drafting Marvin Harrison Jr if he was on the board before drafting a QB unless you absolutely love either Williams or Maye Harrison Jr is a big bodied 6' 4 205lbs do it all WR the type the Giants have not had since OBJ another generational prospect you could then trade back in to the 1st round give up future draft capital to draft a QB especially if you prefer Penix, McCarthy or Nix
In my opinion adding Harrison Jr with either Penix, McCarthy or Nix to Hyatt, Wan' Dale and Saquon instantly transforms this offense
some people may prefer Williams or Maye with either Keon Coleman or Malik Nabers to add to Saquon, Hyatt and Wan' Dale both are good options but Joe Schoen needs to take a big swing in this years draft spend future draft capital to add a QB and one of the top 3 WR in this years draft to improve the Giants offense this off season
and again spend cap space and draft capital on the O line in liu of getting one great O lineman in this year draft bring in several O lineman through free agency and the draft to rebuild the line add 3 starters for next year

  10. Hey Guys, I usually agree with Alex and Anthony on most things but I have to disagree to an extent on some of the comments made. I am not looking to move up in the draft but looking to move down…………YES, MOVE DOWN. You are probably saying, are you CRAZY. Not really. My plan is we try to pickup as much draft capital for 2024-25. I am picking offensive linemen 2nd 3rd rounds. I do not want Caleb Williams. Drake Maye and JJ McCarthy I think fit our team better but if we don't get them we will survive. I would respectfully like to remind both of you that there will most likely always be a good QB we could get from a draft. Lets put the pieces in place first so we do not let that QB fail like we let Daniel Jones down. I am not willing to give up on him yet.

With this said, I want to pickup a Vet QB for 2024 and stick with DeVito and Jones. Let us see where Jones is health wise for 2024. I agree we might have to move on from him after 2024 but lets not act so quickly. I think Taylor will be history with us after this season.

The OFFENSIVE LINE is number one priority for this team. I think going forward Andrew Thomas and JMS are a lock. The other offensive line positions we have to take a hard look at. I do not see Evan Neal as our solution at right tackle. Maybe try him at guard.

With the draft capital and cap space we have for 2024-25 we should be in a good position. The problem I have with free agency is we are always looking at past performance and picking guys that don't pan out.

I agree that Dabol and Schoen should not be fired. We have to have some consistency.

I agree with Alex that we do have some good pieces on this team. We have just not been able to coordinate everything to work. I will say that our season ended in the first game against Dallas when we drove the ball down the field and missed the field goaled and they scored. It has been down hill from there. GO GIANTS💪
