  1. The worrying thing is we are close to having a army the size of the current terrorist watch list in the UK, and that's without including the ones we know nothing about coming over daily on the boats.

  2. As an ex SNCO Technician in the RAF who left in the mid-nineties under the second redundancy scheme. From talking to some of those that stayed in, around 60% of the job I was trained for has been privatised and another 10% has gone to other branches of the military. How they all manage this with less personnel I don't know.

  3. Its not the enemy from outside we need to worry about. Its the enemy from within.

Our borders are being invaded DAILY with hundreds of fighting aged males from mostly Islamic countries. Combined with the already MILLIONS of Muslims already living here, the ever real threat of an eventual Islamic insurgency is a 100% certainty.

UK security services have already admitted that OFFICIALLY there are in excess of 40,000 Islamist footsoldiers in the UK. Unofficially they number HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS.

By 2050, it has been calculated that current demographic trends will mean that foreigners of the Muslim persuasion will represent approx 25% of the UK population.

That is an absolutely SCARY number, as EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY that has had that level of Islamic expansion has ALWAYS descended into violent Islamic takeover.

We ARE at war. We just don't have the bollocks to admit it.

  4. I joined junior leaders in the early 80’s from walking into the army careers office in May I was in Chepstow training by September, I meet serving NCO’s.
Plus they took practically anyone who walked in, there would be a job to suit everyone, basic training sorted the chat from the wheat

  5. I did a contract with the NAO over a decade ago, looking at the MOD budget. It was a horror show of inbuilt budgeting for overspends, defence contractors running rings round Abbey Wood. Ajax was only just kicknig off and looked to be heading into disaster back then. Total mess.

  6. Two words for this problem Conservative Government! chopping away for many many years started in the 1980s by the Thatcher Government we were lucky to win the conflict in the Falklands as HMS Hermes was being scrapped leaving one aircraft carrier at that time then we had the Cameron Government getting rid of all of our Harrier jump jets this Tory government has damaged are defence so so much. I said 35 years ago keep our military strong for any unforeseen wars all I heard was the USA will come to help besides the next wars will be nuclear wars which I disagreed so short sighted. The government need to increase it's GDP on defence spending to about 6% where do we get that extra money well increase taxes have no choice past conservative governments have left us up the creek. We don't build back up then my suggestion is switch the union jack to a white flag!

  7. Increase taxes if you want to do a you turn on our military strength 6% increase spending, we need to decide what we can bring to the table and concentrate building up on that. My idea a very quick fast highly trained reaction force with the best equipment out there yes we have that but put much more into it.

  8. British civil society has no idea about any potential war, self-defence, first aid, and emergency situations. Army is in minimalistic size, and stretched, no new draft, no ammo longer than 5-7 days, ground forces would last 1-2 weeks. Brits are NOT Ukrainians or Poles. Zero will to defend the country, train, and fight. The nation is in a horrible mental, physical, and patriotic state.

  9. Nuclear weapons deter any invasion of Britain. The primary reason for any defence spending. It does more than any army, navy or airforce can do in protecting Britain. It shouldn’t be included in the budget though for the military.

  11. If we were forced to defend ourselves or Europe, there's gonna be a lot of very upset, happily settled veterans getting a call.. If it comes to a fight for survival like what Ukraine faces, our army would have to try to last the promised two months, the reserves would be mobilised and become full time, while the guys who left in the last 1 – 5 years would have to be rushed back into uniform, then while they are heading to the front, re-call the guys who left the army in the last 5 – 10 and re-skill them! Most of these would probably have to be rerolled as infantry/armour/artillery because that is what would be needed.. We'd have to reinstate National Service and call up every health person between 18-48 and use them as the combat support and support arms unless they want to fight as combat troops.. And even if we do all this, without our old commonwealth/empire brothers helping us like back in world war 2, like the Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans, East Africans, Fijians, Canadians ect ect as integrated parts of our Brigades and Divisions, it might not be enough.
