  1. I bought the game because it was supposed to be good and accessible. My two hour refund period was spent on trying out all the weapons and trying to figure out what I was going to use. Then I played for another two hours and felt like the game was an overly complicated mess and quit. Love all the Dark Souls games and did NG+ runs so hard games are not an issue. MHW just wasn't interesting for me.

  2. MHW is a game that I still really love, there's just two franchises that I'll buy no questions asked, Monster Hunter and any Souls like Fromsoftware throws my way.

  3. Please, for the love of God Almighty, make a collaboration with Dark Souls or Elden Ring or any other fromsoftware souls game. Maybe even make it as difficult, that would be AWESOME! If they do that, I'll be there day one!

  4. Hell no. No reason to explore the world right? You won't find a legendary weapon or special armor. You just hunt specific dinosaurs over and over again to for crafting material. This game can't touch Elden Ring or BG3, or any other From or Larian game.

  5. Gameplay loop of hunting monsters and upgrading weapons: 10/10
Convoluted menus and NPC dialog and other BS before actually being allowed to hunt: 3/10
Capcom leadership and their idiotic anti-player DRM policies: -6/10

  6. For sure one of the best of all times. Also, one of the hardest, if you want to face endgame bosses. 200h+ and I still haven't got to beat Alatreon solo. It's much harder than Malenia from Elden Ring.

  7. The "best game ever" would logically be a Role Playing Game with as much Choices & Consequences as you can imagine. Basically, a simulator where the game forces you to play with the capabilities and limitations you set down for your character.
    Dialogue choices.
    Stat choices.
    Gameplay choices.
Consequences for choosing the above three.

Last time I checked, Monster Hunter isn't an RPG.
No dialogue choices disqualifies it immediately.
And I say this as someone who solo'd:
    Freedom 2
    Freedom Unite
    Portable 3rd
    3 Ultimate
    4 Ultimate
    Generations
    World

  8. Iceborne changed the way I view gaming. I used to be the middle school fortnite/minecraft and I know I work for small indie studios for game design. MHW basically changed my life.
