I say this in the video, but just to reiterate – I understand this is how it worked RAW, however most people/events played Lore Familiar as if you COULD swap into a faction signature spell – hence why it’s a big departure from how to majority of games were played.
Now it’s been clarified you can’t, it changes how much value you might place on picking your spells as opposed to rolling them.

I like the change. Anything that forces tougher choices at list building is good imo.
One of the worst things in any game is “auto include” items. It’s just boring when everyone has the same things in their lists and makes the game stale.
I may be overstating a bit but in general I like these kind of changes.

You should also do a video about who benefits most from the armour bane now applying to impact hits and stomps. I think chaos dwarves gained a lot in this space with centaurs and skullcracker at the front.

for lizardmen, if you have a slann you can choose from wandering deliberations. It is 35 points and you can just choose 4 from the signatures spells! a great way to make a cheap and effective slann!

The FAQ prevents you from choosing the faction spell. I does not prevent you from choosing the signature spell and then swapping it for the faction spell.
This prevents a wizard having both their faction spell and the signature spell of their lore.
As an Orc Player I already stopped using the Familiar because the Lore Of WAAAGH! is great already and I can just switch Hand of Gork for a signature. And the Idols, both for me really, are just too good not to use. Heck, the Staff even.
I was already thinking that the Familiar and the Ruby Ring are kind of over emphasized for their worth. Going with O&G items over the common is a fun way to play and isn’t hurting me either. Green is the Best of colors.
I feel Brets (GA) got hurt by this as their play style means they don’t get use of all the spells in their available lore and their regen signature is really good. What 4 battle magic spells would you choice?
We sure ozdrug can know spells from both lores at the same time? That really takes him up in my estimation

Your lizardmen comments are correct, but i would expand slightly. Slann fly, have a ward save, and are often ethereal. Furthermore their 90degree casting vision arc and movement restrictions (comapred to skirmishers) means hexes and enchantments are a tough sell. Overall there are few spells that really benefit them, so Lore Familiar becomes more necessary. If any lizardmen generals are reading i just put up a video discussing our current lores in the state of this change

I've only tried lore familiar once for brets to get Pillar/fireball/arcane urgency and the gift of the lady, now it's been nerfed I'll probably just slap Elisse in
Maybe they should really playtest an edition before pumping them out every couple years. With all the errata the rulebooks are meaningless.
