Angry Chair in Tampa FL regularly has 2 to 3 offerings on tap and in their bottle cooler that are better than Goose Island. Only problem is getting it up to you in Bama. I've had 2 goose islands and neither beats the multiple special releases year round from Angry Chair.
I've worked in beer bars in CO and Boston the last 15+ years, I could give you a bunch of ideas. However, on a family trip to SC a few years back I ran across a beer from Moody Tongue out of Chicago called 12 Layer Cake. Holy hell is it an absolutely amazing BA stout
Been buying and aging goose Island BC Stouts for 8 years now. The closest one to dethroning it is called The Rusty Nail from Fremont Brewing Company. A must add to your list to try!!!
You have got try to get your hands on Black Tuesday by the Bruery. That’s a members only bottle and some vintages cranked up to 25% abv for a beer dude.
New Holland Dragon’s Milk Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout. (Not the white, I haven’t had that one yet). First time I had it was in a bourbon bar in Philadelphia, it is wonderful! Highly recommend it! Aged for one year in hand-selected bourbon barrels. Sweet, malty, rich, and smooth!
Surly Darkness – Bourbon Barrel Aged Brewed in Minneapolis Minnesota. The standard Darkness used to be hard to come by, it was an allocated beer. They've since been able to produce more, but still maintain a high quality. The only downside is they now sell in 16 oz. cans instead of the cool 750 ml bottles.
Not sure if Brewzie himself has a recommendation or anyone in these comments but I need a hand. I want something in a good price range to impress my uncles. Weither it is a good ages beer or a decent bourbon to share. Any recommendations??
Boulevard. It’s better than goose island I worked at goose island CrossFit This was back before Miller coors bought goose island My gf bought me a bottle of boulevard and i cracked it warm and… i like it more!?! I was so confused Tried to hate on it And i failed (Shrug)

Bravery Brewing Company’s bourbon barrel aged “The Shroud” is an excellent beer.
Stone Brewing Company’s “Mikhail” and “Fyodor” are phenomenal.
