Released in 2008, Fallout 3 was a massive W for Bethesda – revitalizing a beloved but dormant RPG franchise from the 1990s and bringing it to a new generation of gamers. Fallout 3 went on to win numerous game of the year awards and solidified Bethesda’s position as one of the top RPG developers of the generation. But is it still worth playing today?
After slogging through Starfield for over 100 hours, I needed a bit of a palette cleanse. So I figured why not check out one of Bethesda’s older titles to see if it had the same magic that I remembered from my initial playthrough. And rather than replay Skyrim or Oblivion for the 50th time, I decided to reinstall Fallout 3 since I haven’t played it in at least four years.
In this video, we’re going to take a look at Fallout 3 – 15 years after its release and see how well it holds up today.

Fallout 3 is probably the first rpg I ever played. I had a great expirience with it which started my live for rpgs, but the main stoty is as bad as any other bethesda game (excluding new vegas, which wasn't even made by them)

I adore it, though it's now too janky for me to actually play. It goes the way of Morrowind and Oblivion. Happy memories.

I’m presuming the real Big Dan is the one with the Liara shirt and the one with the gun and the anime girl shirt is the evil clone who plays as Pink Goggles Shepard and makes all of the cursed decisions in RPGs
I always LOVED how you play as a child growing up at the vault and form a real character. I had a real connection to… me in game. On the other side I could never care less about my son in FO 4 that I got to know for 5 minutes in total. I wish for more character editors in future to be like in FO 3. 😢
Idk if I’d ever play non-heavily-modded FO3 ever again unless a remaster/remake comes out.. because I sure am a whore for trophies! (Well, Achievements, considering it’d likely never come to PlayStation) But man I’ve played game so many different ways, the replayability of FO3 was insane to me having only been a Final Fantasy type of RPG player back in 2008.. FO3 was a revolutionary game for me!

Hey Dan, to your point about not understanding why the Enclave are evil: if they got control of Project Purity they would infect the water supply with a chemical agent that would kill anyone with mutations. This wouldn’t just affect Super Mutants and Ghouls, but also every non-Vault resident of the Capital Wasteland. I believe it’s John Henry Eden who explains this plan to the player
As for why you can’t side with them, it’s because they want you dead too. After all, you’re also a mutant in their eyes. Not saying it’s good game design to not allow the player to join their faction, but the reasoning is pretty clear

If you wanna play Fallout 3 on PC, you have to play with TTW IMO, and download mods that don't make the game feel like it came out in 1985
