We could rebuild our civilisation over an evolutionary timescale – so basically everyone in the present still gets fucked. So what you are saying is, in order to properly end civilizations, for extended evolutionary time, we need to burn all books, destroy all power generating machinery and deploy a virus that kills all plant life. Also, the drunken teenage comparison, close, but not quite, because some (actually many) teenagers just want to watch the world burn, deliberately.
