  1. I played at launch till 30…what a grind, the traveling is horrible….they need mounts!..every area is too big to not have them….I heard with this patch that the story, leveling system is supposed to be overhauled and better…storyline was uninteresting b4…I'll try it when it comes out but if I feel my time is being wasted on running everywhere and not accomplishing anything…like b4..I'm out till mounts are put in…I'm only 30 so I won't be able to enjoy the new area anyways.

  2. I agree with the need to make the new zone unique where people will go there to do activities that can be completed in that zone only.

Hey Jay, what's your review on the Great Sword? How does it compared to the other 2 handed weapons?

  3. I really dony know why NW doesnt add open world dynamic events, like escorting npcs, defending a village, patrol around to clear small bosses and world bosses…etc. they have an amazing world for it, it just feels wasted atm.

  4. the key word is patch this is not an expansion so if some one is looking for an expansion type of content then you might be correct but it does show they have fixed most of the problems and are expanding the game even with out the you have to buy this update like so many games out there as for the investment of time i have never played a game that had more in it then new world for the price as far as players not doing the story or the quest in the zones those are the same people saying there is no content don't confuse lazy with lack of content to many people do not understand the amount of time it took to get to the top in most mmo rpg games that is the reason wow lost so many players they went to the participation prize model everyone gets loot no mater how well they play or how much effort they put into it

  5. Tbh i think its too early to say anything about "saving new world" with brimstone, since we know we're getting more info and surprises in the coming weeks. Otherwise great content as always Jay

  6. New World Notice The Armory in game doesn't match character level. By time you reach Solider level and you unlock the armory all item are all under or below what you have in inventory. It all useless. I don't wana play no more, i'll check back after update.

  7. I would love to see mounts and it seems to be confirmed by Scot Lane. They dont even have to go all out crazy with it. Just add like a horse, a stag and a bear mount. The models are already there for all of them. You could just add a normal variant and an upgraded armored one. Would be awesome.

  8. I don’t think new world needs saving, i just think it needs content and more player suggested changed. New world has come a long long way and even if the numbers drop down to 15-20k it’s not going to go anywhere. I love love love your videos, but the title seems kinda misleading saying that the game is dead/dying and it’s questionable if the game is viable.
By no means is new world perfect or bug free, but i think they have been trying to add more meaning in their lore, dungeons, PVE, and customizable & viable play styles. New world doesn’t need saving, it’s just about if it can reach out and entertain a bigger demographic and retain a large percentage of all the “hype train” players right now.

  9. After seeing all the videos about how "now is the time to come back to new world", I came back. I'm playing the game casually, just running going around the world and clearing out every possible mission/storyline and actually paying attention to them. I just collect any uncommon resources I find along the way, and I'm not concerned with pvp. Just enjoying the game, I think my grindy approach the first time ruined my own experience. I'm not competing this time, I'm just playing and enjoying. I suggest you all do the same.

  10. I believe the hype is growing again but most people from forums are saying they will only come back with fresh servers

But aren't the developers saying the want to work on the wealth generated from owning towns like windsward I think fresh start servers are best coming when that has been reworked

  11. When I went through part of the zone it did feel a bit empty, but like you said, it is a desert so that is to be expected. However there is room for a lot more. I've never had an issue with the walks in New World, then again I am an explorer by nature and this zone offers more to explore and see which I'm happy about. I do feel you on the mob timers, those need to be adjusted for sure. Ideally New World would do well with some ability to scale mobs based on the number of players so you don't have a group one-shotting the boss. It is unfortunate that they still aren't adding "flavor" NPC to zones, we don't have any "barks" from NPCs or background NPCs just going about their day with maybe a line or two of "flavor" text. Mounts seem to be on the way as said by Scot Lane and I've seen some data mines that indicate horses and saddles. Whatever it is, I just hope it goes beyond a speed boost.

Edit: On the subject of mounts, if you go to the shore on the border of Ebonscale and Brimstone Sands you see some alligators that have the same skins as the small pet alligators some of the pirates have but they are full size and the harness they have on them looks a bit like a saddle on the full size models. It's either and Easter egg for mounts or happy little mistake.

  12. They need to fix the territory and war system asap. Only 1% of the community gets to play them regularly while everyone else gets locked out.
A new cyrodiil like zone would help with that too, as it’s a simulated never ending war.

  13. An evolution but a big evolution.

This is a large unpaid for content bump.

If a player has been gone awhile, then alot of pain points will be removed.

Also those wide open areas can be filled with dynamic content, when it is ready. After making such sterling progress then it's key that this is a solid release. Which of course will require a month post patching, while more improvements are prepared.

I am very bullish about progress in this last 9 months.

  14. Something I've not seen covered is they have adjusted the number of shards required to level your GS. 600-601 is I think 1 shard, in the PTR its 45 ish. Overall the total is about the same to get to 625. You might want to tell people to get to 615-620 now and do the last bit after the patch. Should save some shards that way

  15. One thing I think they could do to make towns more unique, add level 6 benches etc and make each town only allowed one, this could either be predefined or let the town choose.
That way, all towns will be useful. If I can only craft level 6 weapons in Brightwood, and only have a level 6 smelter in RW, it makes all towns useful. This also helps the problem with one town making all the money.

  16. It gives the game new life, but that's never forever. They need to keep up the good work. When you think about what the game was like at launch vs now it's crazy better now. The players will decide quite a bit since the new abilities (Heartrunes) and new gems (Runeglass) along with the Great Sword opens up a ton more combos and customization. Overall an amazing update. I can't wait for it to get here. Oh and the event boss is much cooler than any previous events. I can tell you what though – running around in heavy armor for a change going across this massive zone, even with the tons of shrines, I feel the pain for the peeps who have been begging for mounts lol. It took a lot of willpower to go back to making progress on lives today 🙂

  17. Mounts are great and all, but I'll take gear loadouts and shared Company storage over mounts any day. So many things could be done with companies that are being ignored. Let a company build a warehouse (opens up more crafting, mats, professions, etc). Improving said warehouse or guild HQ adds perks such as more storage, etc. Maybe a small training room with NPCs. If I remember correctly there is a little arena in, one of the lower level zones (Monarchs maybe) that you go into as part of the MSQ that has infinitely respawning mobs. So something like that could easily be added, which makes for great training and gives yet another purpose to being in a company. Heck some perks can be live only if the town is controlled by the same faction and dormant if not. No wars (but maybe be able to invite for some group sparring sessions?), but can have some mini-invasion type of things to bring the members together, practice some teamwork etc. Like 25 man events or something so smaller companies can do them too. No mercs allowed. Company members only. It can have detrimental effects to the HQ too. Just so much potential here. So far NW has come a very long way. I look forward to seeing where it is another year from now.

  18. nothing can save New world from itself.. all areas loaded with bots.. RMT (real money trading) at an all time high.. the game is 100% pay2win now.. you dont even have to leave town and you can get level 60.. max expertise.. bis gear.. and yes you dont have to leave town or a join a faction or have friends.. 100% facts.. all you need to do is use a credit card.. and if your new to the game unless you pay to win you will never be in a war – you will never own a territory – you will literally hate yourself and amazon for even bothering with a game ran by bots/farmers from indonesia and credit card payements.. its spammed in game..with zero penalty.. the game is also $7 on websites.. but im sure you want to dish out $20-$40 to amazon lol.. stop letting these "content creators" sway you with clickbait.. avoid this game till new fresh servers start for a real experience.. which will only last a few weeks till its ran by the same bots/farmers/RMT's.

  19. After testing the PTR for several hours I’m really enjoying the new content. AGS really nailed it this time. For new and returning players I think fresh servers will provide an amazing experience and months worth of amazing content for them. For existing players this is an awesome addition of content as well.

There will be more customization to builds now than ever before. That in and of itself is fantastic for players. Build customization is what keeps me in this game. Trying out new builds and swapping around between different play styles is what keeps me in this game.

  20. Imo they should add more unique/useful contents like :
    – Gwent in Witcher 3, we collect cards all over the world and more rare cards later on then we can use it to play with others, with bet etc.
    – Maybe add mini games that's addicting. A mini game can be an addicting game on its own.
    – A company base where people can gather, like in FF14, we have our own personal space, and have a company building with facilitations inside that we can actually use. NPCs, crafting stations, etc.
    – Mount, with basic function for going from point A to point B faster. That's it, no need for mounted combat etc. But please make it instant summon and mounted coz we'll be using it so often, making a delay with summon time even a few secs might be annoying for things like this. Or maybe an ability to transform into a centaur, cannot do combat but we move with much faster speed. We can skip most if not all mobs all over the map anyway, so a mount wouldn't hurt for that purpose.

  21. I think the new zone is great for existing players and some that return will stay ..some won't. If you are returning focus on finding a good group of people to play with…especially people who have stayed with the game. Or if new player build a group who plays at the same time as you and go through the game together. It can be a lot of fun. Don't get me wrong you can always play solo…but I personally have a lot of fun building my toon with a group of 5.

  22. That’s a good way to put it, it’s an evolution rather than a revolution. There are some differences but mostly just more of the same with some improvements to the core of the game. It’s nice to see some slightly different stuff popping up but until significantly different endgame content like raids, raid type world bosses and such come out then it won’t really be a lasting hype. If that worm comes out on full brimstone as a world boss then that would be awesome.

  23. It cannot be understated how good the "Choose your own adventure" style of play is in NW.

But without concepts like chasing meta I think draws some players away which is healthy.

My group of close friends are waiting till the patch to try it out again so that means something.

  24. Seems like they’re adding a zone with the same issues. Lack of real content. Makes me sad. I’ve had such high hopes for this game since before release and it’s been constant disappointment. They definitely don’t listen to community feedback enough. And now knowing we’re basically getting a zone where most of its barren.. like come on. At least add something, some cool events or just anything. More world content, better dungeons, maybe some large scale raids. Like there’s no way that in a years time, they’re just giving us the same shit we’ve had basically, the same things that drives a lot of people away. Just dry content. I really hope they prove everything I’ve said here wrong though and it ends up better somehow, but at this point idk anymore

  25. Nah, this content will feed the player-base for maybe a month tops and then RIP (again). As you said, "more of the same" even if they did add a couple new skinned mobs and a new weapon. Endgame is still lacking, no raids, no cross-server matching, the LFG system is garbage and participation in faction wars is still ran by elitists resulting in an unfair mechanic where casuals will rarely get to participate once populations return to normal and the top guilds have maxed out capacity.
