Is Bannerlord Boring? Try This…

Bannerlord recently left early access, but the game has been out for years now. If you’re played it for more than a few hundred hours, you’ve probably run into boredom at some point. This video will present a few ideas for how to bring the fun back into Bannerlord as if it was your first time!

  1. I would love some feedback on this video as it was more of an experiment for me than a normal "guide". My goals here were to:
    – Promote the Robin Hood series starting on the second channel.
    – Practice making a non-guide video.
I have a few other ideas for videos I would love to try out if this video does well, but I wanted to test the waters first. I only spent about 10 hours on this compared to the usual 40 – 50 hours for a guide so if the interest is there, I could put a lot more time into the next one. I've still got a guide coming out this week, so don't worry!
    *Other video ideas:
    – Can playing video games make you smarter? Maybe…
    – How playing video games helped me succeed in business.
    – Here's how much my small 40k sub channel makes on YouTube

  2. As a player with thousands of hours also, I've been thinking of ways to spice things up and keep the game going. Here's one for veteran players out there to try or anyone wishing to extend their late-game. Best used in sandbox mode.

    United Empire playthrough:

Unite all the empire factions under one banner, either by joining an existing faction and conquering the split factions or by establishing your own empire faction and uniting them under one banner. Recruit some of the empire clans but eliminate others through execution as to have a strong base of nobility but not overwhelming (15-20 clans should suffice). Once accomplished, abdicate the kingdom and leave releasing all your territorial holdings even abandoning all your hardened troops and companions to the wind. Essentially leave yourself with nothing. Abandon your massive wealth also if you want.

From there, restart your game and decide where to go. See if the united Empire can stand against the other non empire factions. Go start a new faction and fight against the monster you created. (Maybe you left your creation because it became too political, or corrupted. Pretend you were betrayed or usurped. Insert any backstory.) Maybe go into retirement and fast forward the game until you die and your heir can take over if you had kids. You can create a world, where your child was truly an impoverished noble and now he/she must take back what is rightfully theirs. Leave them with nothing but the Legendary Sword you fashioned when you were young. Hand it to them on your deathbed and charge them to seek revenge.

The year is 1135. The New Calradic Empire threatens to conquer all the lands. On his deathbed, your father calls you to his side. He gives you a key to an old wooden chest that he has stored in the attic. In his final breath he tasks you to follow your true destiny and reinstate your lineage. You brush the dust off the old chest, and with a click the lock opens. Inside you find…….

  3. I’ve recently found out that your companions can win tournament rewards for you. That actually can create interesting but probably grindy playthrough being gladiator manager and preparing fighter to fight for you. That can might work if player wants to max intelligence and play as analog of Petyr from GOT

  4. Mate, your videos are fantastic! You're an analytical chemist. When you add this much comedic relief into your vids they're awesome. Video title was perfect. Your play throughs are great suggestions. Have you seen Halcyons videos. He crushes the raider play throughs

  5. It's only been out on console for a few days and I'm bored out of my mind… I think I've just sank way too many hours into Warband to even want to give Bannerlord a proper run through, it would help if they implemented some kind of cheat menu into the game for console, but its just plain, vanilla and does get boring really fast on console, I'm seriously considering buying a PC just for this game… I'm so sick of the grind, I just want to have some fun, start out with a lot of money, max troop size and start my conquest of Calradia straight away… they should have implemented cheats into Sandbox mode to add replay value… I envy you PC players so much.

  6. I do this a lot. When i understand a feature makes the game a childplay (focus mode in RDR or throwing knife in AC Syndicate for example) i simply do not use it. Because there is literally 10 other ways to beat the game but you will keep using only 1, just because of it's easier.

  7. I think I'm at the point you were at when starting out. I'm in love with the Blacksmithing variety and I find it quite satisfying to chase the different patterns/pieces to unlock…. However in the back of my mind, I know that I will dread doing it all over again if I do another blacksmithing playthrough. Maybe I'll cheat… I don't see myself going through that grind multiple times just to try out if I'll enjoy apex 2H swords vs (insert weapon archetype here.) The Thamaskene steel grind is real!

  8. does anyone know how to do a prison break from a castle now? the overview menu says I have limited access to the dungeon. I can physically go to the dungeon and bribe the guard outside to get in but I cannot find the way to start a prison break.

  9. Hi strat I was wondering if you could do a video about how the game generates the map for battles

I've been trying to fall back on the campaign map to bridges and high ground to get an advantage in the simulation battle but most of the time it keeps loading open planes

Sorry if you already made a video explaining but I had a search and couldn't find it

  10. Well, the Eagles never covered. That is what you should expect when the First plays the Worst. A game like this is primed to be an upset just because "Any given Sunday . . ."

  11. You play this game in third person, wtf? lol

Honestly, I LOVED Warband, and i feel like Bannerlord, while still being a good game, has way too many drawbacks as opposed to Warband… But it also improved on many things… Thus making the old game unplayable… I hate it… lol, I still enjoy it, but I feel there's too many downsides to make it playable for an extended period of time…
